Socialists claim Spanish victory
March 15, 2004
SPAIN'S opposition Socialist Party today claimed victory in the nation's general election and said it was in a position to form a government.
An official count of 77 per cent of the ballots showed the opposition Socialists (PSOE) with a clear lead.
The ruling Popular Party (PP) had 37.1 per cent of the vote and the Socialists 43.1 per cent, the interior ministry said.
The turnout stood at 77 per cent.

From the joy I felt in having the conservatives win elections in Greece to my feelings of sadness that Spain went back to the socialists who failed her before.

Sheep to the slaughter.
A victory for Islamic terror. Message to terrorists: We surrender; please kill us last.
God help us.

The turnout stood at 77 per cent. Outstanding turnout of voters. Too bad that so few people in America care about their country that we can hardly get 50% to the polls.
If we got 77% to the polls, elections would not even be close and the GOP would run the table every election.

This is a real bummer. I was over at DU just now and they are jubilant. They're describing the Socialists as a "center-left" party... Sheesh.

Score one for Al-Qaeda. Just one medium-magnitude strike knocked out a major European ally of the US. If this sh!t is allowed to continue - they are going to take out our European allies one by one. It is time to unveil the nuclear option - Afghani/Pak border needs some terraforming. Then the terrorists can be easily spotted - they'd glow in the dark

Europe is lost. On second thought, why should they care? They know America will come and bail their pathetic surrendering asses out yet again once it becomes necessary.
Assuming, that is, that we don't surrender too with a Socialist victory in November.
I feel sick.

If we got 77% to the polls, elections would not even be close and the GOP would run the table every election.Unfortunately, I feel it would be just the opposite. The majority of Americans are sheeple who vote with their hearts and not with their brain. Republicans would be wiped out if the apathetic turned out to vote.

Pulled them out from where? The Bali bomb was well before the Iraq war.
They pulled some of their SAS out of Afganistan in preparation for the Iraqi war, but there has been no capitulation from Australia.

This may have an up-side.
If Spain undergoes a spate of terrorist attacks,it may prove a valuable object lesson on how caving in to terrorists will not save you.
The Islamofascists will probably attack again, the Spanish have shown they can be beaten.

The Spanish have given up their chance to be a power player. We will continue the fight and our alies will be those who are willing to fight.

Terrible news. Appeasement never works. They'll reget this to their dying day.
