Socialists claim Spanish victory
March 15, 2004
SPAIN'S opposition Socialist Party today claimed victory in the nation's general election and said it was in a position to form a government.
An official count of 77 per cent of the ballots showed the opposition Socialists (PSOE) with a clear lead.
The ruling Popular Party (PP) had 37.1 per cent of the vote and the Socialists 43.1 per cent, the interior ministry said.
The turnout stood at 77 per cent.

please kill us last. Until a few days ago, I would have guessed that france would be the first Islamic theocracy in the (re)conquest of Europe. Now it looks like Spain, or should I say, al-Andalusia, will be the first to fall.
Those begging to die last are the easiest to kill.

Message to terrorists: We surrender; please kill us last. Bump

that reasoning is precisely why the Spanish will NOT suffer any immediate terror attacks. Al Quada will be able to show "look! they backed the US and got bombed. Now they no longer do! Maybe we should appease them as well."

And what did the terrorist jerks learn from this hmmm? They"ve got 8 months or so to plan similar acts before our election to try and turn the tide. I would like to think that would backfire on them in the USA. But I didn't think the Spaniards would cave either.

Spain's financial markets will suffer and the sheeple will awaken and wonder what they brought upon themselves with their appeasement.
This success by the terrorists will embolden them.
Shame on the spanish voters for the harm they have brought to the civilized world with their cowardice.

I beg to differ. Go the mall and look around...most of dullards one sees out and about are those 50% who do not vote. I oppose massive GOTV efforts because those who have to be reminded a bizillion times to vote are usually the ignorant, the apathetic, and the self-centered -- in other words, people inclined to vote for the Democrats. I don't want my informed vote being cancelled-out by someone who had to be driven to the polls and knows nothing about the vital issues of the election.

Thus, the great month of Ramadan witnessed a series of victories for three consecutive years on the hand of those great leaders: Tarif Al-Barbari, Tariq Ibn Ziyad and Musa Ibn Nusair who strove hard to spread Islam on the land of Andalusia, the lost paradise. Yes, its a treasure which Muslims lost due to lacking elevated values of unity, and brotherhood. Isnt it the right time for Muslims to unite, to return back to the path of Allah? To respond to the call of their faith and dignity and liberate their lands? From 'Islamonline.net'

Possibly.
There's no risk to Al-Queda in another attack.
I think they may want to see how far they can push things, and the country that puts it's tail between it's legs and runs is the perfect laboratory.
I hope you are right, though, though they may be misguided, nobody deserves to die like tahat.

They're describing the Socialists as a "center-left" party... In other words, the Socialists are to the right of DirtyUnderware crowd.

Anyone else have a feeling that the terrorists might think they can sway our elections similarly? I have a bad feeling we're going to see the threat level go up a few months ahead. :(
