Actually, I used the neutral 'gay marriage' on purpose. For women or men who happen to fall into the gay lifestyle, it's weak fathers that are the culprit in both cases.

I've met more than a few gay people, and I've done a LOT of reading. For a good long time, I thought the 'strong' mother was indeed a primary root cause of gay men.

Not anymore. The mothers only got 'strong' b/c the weak father created a vacuum.

A catholic priest, a specialist in SSAD (same sex attachment disorder) has put it rather succiently:

"If you are a father of a young son, and you fail to hug him adequately (physically, spiritually, emotionally), then you can bet when he grows older, he will seek and find a man who will".

Bottom line, homosexuality is mostly a very bad bonding disorder created by the neglect, sometimes abuse, but primarily neglect, of the natural father. And last night, that was just fine by ABC as any mention of natural fathers of any of these individuals in this 'gay' family was deliberately suppressed.

By the way, all the comments about Rosie I've seen so far .... there's one I haven't seen. I'll offer it: I have yet to see a single photo where she DOESN'T have a fake smile.

She spreads her mouth, bares her teeth, and her eyes appear totally empty. I feel some pity for her ... but would feel more if she wasn't so politically active against Bush.

(FWIW, I have two teen daughters, and each enjoys a one night a week father/daughter date - I had no idea how important these would be , but after the last few months, I'm a bit clued in)

I never use the word "gay"; I use "homosexual" and "sodomite". It was my thought that men and women are weak in different ways, generally following the characteristics defining their masculinity or femininity, where strength in those ways would beneficially affect their children.

Excellent post. I have a girlfriend with a gay son (age 24), the product of a broken (!!) first marriage. A mutual friend observed that she suspected that he became homosexual because he's not close to his stepfather and he realizes that his biological father (an wife-beater with a drinking problem) is indifferent to him. So he turns to other men for love and attention.

Unfortunately, with the divorce and illegitimacy rates being what they are, widespread parental indifference to their children even in intact families, and widespread acceptance of homosexuality, homosexuality is likely to further spread.
