If Kerry was there, he had an obligation to inform the authorities that a potential crime may take place.

Your post raises an interesting possibility. Suppose, just suppose, that he did inform the authorities.

Suppose, in fact that was his job.

Bear with me, now.

Look at his background:

--Skull and Bones at Yale (primary recruiting ground for the intelligence community)

--A ridiculously brief, absurdly medaled, stint in Vietnam. It looks like the "fix was in" to get him all those medals.

--Then he returns home as a major player in the Vietnam Veterans against the war. He lies about atrocities, throws away phony medals. (Establishing his "bona fides" with the anti-war movement?)

--Remember that at that time both LBJ and Nixon were convinced that foreigners were funding the leftist groups and recruited FBI agents to infiltrate them. Why not use ex-military men to infiltrate the VVAW?

Perhaps that is Kerry's dirty little secret--that would freak out the leftists who support him big time.

If true--and if Hillary knows about it--the man will never make it past the convention.

Just a hypothesis--about a very strange man with a very strange history.

Interesting theory, but infiltrators are almost always low level quiet types. Kerry was a leader in the organization. He set the agenda. An infiltrator does not set agendas, they are paid to agree. So if Kerry were an infiltrator, he would have voted for the plot and then informed the powers that be. His vote against the plot and his leadership position in the movement is, IMO, strong evidence that he was not there as an "infiltrator." He was there as a plain-old-every-day "traitor."

Interesting. He does have a habit of being on both sides of an issue:)

Since the good senator has failed to produce the documentation that authorizes his cache of medals, I have serious doubt that he actually earned them. Earning five medals in four months, without missing a day of duty for wounds, is awfully fishy? Kerry can put this suspicion of mine, and probably tens of thousands of others, to rest simply by making public his military records (just as GW Bush did). Until then, I can only assume that Kerry grabbed a handfull of his buddies' medals in DC as they were throwing them onto a pile and does not have supporting documentation that they were earned. His reluctance to produce his military records, in itself, tells me that he has something to hide.....

Wouldn't be the first time it happened. For example, "Was Stalin an Agent of the Tsarist Secret Police?"

That is a twisted, but plausible, scenario.

Similar to turned Soviets, being trained to turn in their handlers, to make them unimpeachable. Gave them instant karma.

Kerry, a counter-spy? It's the stuff of le Carre', but it works.

A very similar scenario was presented in last Sunday's "Cold Case" program on (blech) CBS. Did anyone else see it?
