Someone mentioned on a previous thread that C-band satellite offers a la carte. I looked at a couple and the prices for a year's worth of service were reasonable. The prohibiting factor? Equipment (big dish and the like). But, if you can order what you want and pay on the cheap, it may make up the difference over time. Google on C-band satellite and look at the options.

It is when you are a shareholder, and the dispute is about money.

How bout this - Demand refund for the $ you pay to Dish for local channels and CBS. that ought to get their attention. THEY ( Dish) broke the contract not us !!

Any way you get that takes danny boy rather off the air is a good thing.
The C.B.S. News is as one sided and pathetic as it gets. No wonder FOX with at least a semblence of balanced reporting is in the assension, while c.b.s. is sucking eggs.

Reminds me of a moment in The Cable Guy when people started picking up books.

Had a C-band 10 years ago. Loved it. The programming was amazingly cheap, and you could get what you wanted, and none of what you didn't want. It was easy to order a premium channel like HBO for just a month as a tryout.
I got rid of mine when it bacame nigh impossible to find anyone to work on it anymore. Also, some prime channels went strictly digital, requiring an expensive digital receiver upgrade to my analog C-Band system. Now I'm usinf DiSH. Dunno if the wife is gonna be able to do without the Monday night lineup, though....
