I grew up in El Paso Tx. My home town is an excellent example of what uncontrolled immigration can do to a local economy. El Paso is now essentially part of Mexico and is enjoying the fruits of the association: a poor economy, poverty, sluggish growth, violent crime, out of control social services spending
.. and guess where approximately 80% of the illegal aliens earnings go; thats right back to Mexico not into the local economy. Little wonder Fox encourages illegal immigration into the United States; its bolstering Mexicos pitiful economy.

Add 33% of a population that bothers with private health insurance ---- all the rest get it free, government housing projects going up faster than you imagine but not fast enough to keep up with immigration, and sky-high welfare rates.

Yes, the first year Fox was in office (2000) the 'remittances' were only 5.9 BILLION to mexico.
However the last three years these 'remittances' now total about 35 BILLION.
Anyone seen 40 BILLION dollars worth of improvement in mexico since Fox was elected ??

Anyone who doesn't believe what you wrote needs to go to El Paso --- or other border counties like Hidalgo, Starr etc and take a good look around. You don't see all that many lettuce pickers but the welfare offices are crammed full. Anyone who think Mexico is full of hard-working Republicans needs to go to the slums of Mexico City (or most any Mexican city) and look at the hordes of street children begging on any corner.
