You won't find me joining the Lovers of Losers. A RAT victory is not a certainty at this point. I think we have a good shot at winning particularly if Obama is the RAT running.

See this is what concerns me...
What next...Not like I am sweating it too much...But it does illustrate my utter contempt at the people who we do have up there who are flirting with disaster and our freedom...
This should never have gotten this close...
I don't like being screwed with like this...
I would love to be a fly on the wall in one of these "lunkerheads" offices right now...
Maybe I'll just call and see whats shakin'...
Later,
Steve

Think it over, folks. Some will hutch.
For the rest of them, if this issue and immigration were gone, they would not even be on the forum.
Myopia!
But that is what makes us stand out in the crowded room. That is why we get wacked around.
They see us standing in their way, when in reality, we are not. We are only trying to show them what IS important on a much longer list than they are reading.

Don't worry NRA figured out what RATS were up to:
-------------
Nonetheless, Democrats accused the bulk of Republicans of kowtowing to the National Education Association (search)(LOL...NRA not NEA) after Executive Director Wayne LaPierre (search) sent a letter to GOP leaders announcing that the NRA opposed passage of the bill with its amendments and note recorded votes for future use.
"... Having made our decision, this vote on final passage is a key vote for the NRA and will be used in our future evaluations and endorsements of candidates for the U.S. Senate," LaPierre wrote.

You know, I am just floored by this... Why would you go to the trouble of attaching an amendment to a bill, get it approved...The entire bill goes to a vote, then vote against the whole thing???
It's called posturing.

They combined the legislation. It is the way of the rat and they let them do it and poison the bill.
The rats wanted the legal protection bill defeated and put the AWB in a fix.
So that is exactly what happened.
Nice political maneuvering by the admin and GOP leadership.
The GOP lost their issue, but it was a sacrificial lamb to begin with.

More political calculus by both sides.
The bottom line is that the Dems killed the liability act, while allowing some RINOs to show their support for AWB and other gun prohibition staples.
Once that was all taken care of, they basically agreed to call the whole thing off.
Net result: no new laws today, just political statements by senators.
Basically a series of campaign ads provided at taxpayer expense.

But don't you see, Daschle will still be able to run near-endorsement ads this summer. People generally aren't newshounds and will take it at face-value. Doesn't really matter what the NRA says now. Don't get me wrong, I support the NRA, and am a lifetime member, but they messed up.

This is a huge GOP victory. The AWB will time out. Bush has no vote losing call to make. The clean bill may or may not emerge. But for now, it looks a lot like election year politics where the Dems got to vote for their amendments and then everyone got to vote it down. They can present the vote they want to present back home.

Your tax dollars at work. You can't campaign to do something for the people if you've already done it.

Many of them will be able to tell one group that they were for and another group that they were against. Yes, they've been taking notes from two-face the horse-face Kerry.

Except gun manufacturers and sellers are still getting sued into receivership. Doesn't matter if the suits are dismissed, the legal costs alone can kill this industry.
