I understood that Craig and the other pubbies withdrew their support once the messages started coming in on their Blackberries, presumably from Senate leadership after consulting with the WH (at least that what was suggested on FOX). It was really pretty amusing to see Diane Feinstein and Schumer crowing at noon about their "victory" and then having the tables humiliatingly turned on them by having the Republicans all vote against the bill with the AWB provisions in it! Maybe the Dims should have been a little less obvious about their smugness, LOL!

(If it weren't for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.)

Sorry, no. One of the websites had someone ask whether or not we deemed the assault weapons ban less important than the protection bill. They had an idea how we were going to react some time before it was introduced.
This has been a setback for the protection act. That's all. The problem for the dems is they were hoping gun control would be a forgotten item this year. All we have to do is stay together and defeat the anti-gun dems. This can't be the GOA attacking the NRA. It can't be the Libertarians attacking the Republicans. It's the pro-gun activists attacking the anti-rights dems.
