Sorry, no. One of the websites had someone ask whether or not we deemed the assault weapons ban less important than the protection bill. They had an idea how we were going to react some time before it was introduced.

This has been a setback for the protection act. That's all. The problem for the dems is they were hoping gun control would be a forgotten item this year. All we have to do is stay together and defeat the anti-gun dems. This can't be the GOA attacking the NRA. It can't be the Libertarians attacking the Republicans. It's the pro-gun activists attacking the anti-rights dems.

Well, I personally saw the footage of Craig withdrawing his support for his own bill. Either he and all the other pubbies "got the message" that continuing the AWB was NOT permissible (suggested by FOX), as it exposed President Bush to too much conservative rancor, or the mass defection was pure politics just to make the Dims look stupid and clueless. I don't believe Craig does things for the sake of politics, and I don't think the pubbies have that much intestinal fortitude. Either way, the Dems lost BIG by having their transparent AWB attempt go down in flames. At the end of the day, I'm okay with that.
