I'm sure they'll find a way to make it back to DC, probalby courtesy of the USAF, in time for the late night, (or early morning most likely) vote.

Agreed. According to Delay, the pro-AWB supporters are no where near close to getting enough votes. Let the Senate pass it. It won't become law just because 50 or so idiots think it should.

Only providing they are willing to throw out the baby (lawsuit protection) with the bath water (AWB, Gun show ban, ammo ban, whatever). The House has already passed it's own "clean' version of this bill, so it won't be a matter for committee, other than the conferance committee, which is where Delay has the most sway.

I'm so used to being stabbed in the back by RINOs on the 2A, that I can already feel the spot where knife is going to go in this time.

The AWB expires on 9/13/04. I imagine that if it sunsets then, prices will be very elevated for a couple of months after that, as pent up demand for normal capacity mags and other verboten accessories will be high. After that, if it is renewed our lords and masters will likely make things retroactively illegal to 9/14/04. Ex post facto laws have been allowed to stand before, so it wouldn't surprise me this time.

Allen's office told me that he "promised Virginia" that he would vote for renewal. Move him into the "Y" column.

That and Pres. Bush has already said he would only sign S1805 if it was 'CLEAN'.

Put McCain on the "Yes" list. He's pushing for "closing the gun-show loophole" laws.
