Uncomfortable number of "D"'s on that undecided list.

Feingold (WI-D) will certainly vote with the rest of the Democrats on this.

He's a phony "maverick". Every time the vote is close he sides with his leftist pals.

I regret to offer this prediction:

The ban will go on. GWB will not veto. SCOTUS will not overturn.

Folowing that...

I predict AWB is DOA in the House.

I guess we'll find out next week who the traitors are.

My guess, and that is all it is, is that it will not be renewed.

I suspect there will be some kind of mild erosion of our rights just to make the liberals feel better. Enough of these mild erosions and there is nothing left.

Agreed. According to Delay, the pro-AWB supporters are no where near close to getting enough votes. Let the Senate pass it. It won't become law just because 50 or so idiots think it should.

(and barring other major problems arising)

Bush will be reelected. Lesser of evils, ya know.

You got that right! I have a bad feeling about this. Our side has allowed themselves to be strong armed on these kinds of things far too many times for me to feel we are in the clear.

We'll see next week.

Although in my experience, it seems like they usually wind up cutting a deal behind the scenes to screw gunowners.

The problem I see is that it is not a single time issue. If (for political reasons in an election year) the ban is not passed this year, it will be passed all or in pieces over the next year while there is plenty of time till the next election for people to cool down and forget about it.

Feingold's facing some good conservative challengers this year. But Milwaukee and Madison will save him as usual.

Yes it is easier to pass a law than to repeal one.

Hard to lose when you get 140% of the vote in Milwaukee.
