We tried to get Dish Network to remove MTV from our feed. DN said that we could use 'parental controls' to block it.
We said....we don't want MTV to get any of our monthly fee. DN said...we know what you watch and if you do not watch MTV you reduce their profits....the more viewers MTV has ...the more MTV can charge for commericals....so by not watching MTV you have an effect.

I sell Dish Network, and that is just not true.
Dish and Viacom are fighting now about Dish having to carry some of their (Viacom's) lousy programming just to be able to broadcast CBS.
Dish has no choice but to sell you the programming in tiers.
PS.....they don't keep tabs on what you're watching either.

Yes, they get more $ if their veiwership is high, but that is determined by the ratings books. I really think someone mislead you about knowing what you click your channels to. If you discover they are monitoring and reporting that, you could make some news.
