There are no original ideas in the arts. After the Greeks there are pretty much no new storylines. Shakespeare's plays were pretty much entirely ripped off storylines.

Actually, it's amazing how many people will have similar ideas independently without knowledge of the other. Doesn't mean it's ripped off intentionally.
