From what I've seen, so far, this is more than we've had since Tora Bora.

Things could go very badly for the Pakis if they catch him. Muslims aren't exactly known for forgiveness.

Unlike Saddam, he and al-Zawahri would rather die than be caught.

Yeah they said that about Saddam too. I don't buy the martyr wish from the likes of Arafat, Saddam and Osama. That is left for kids and their stupid followers.

The same report said Bush would hold the info until closer to the election.

Uh, that would be pointless now, wouldn't it? Doesn't make me confident of this report.

Osama in Pak-Afghan border area: Rashid

LAHORE: Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said the persons detained in the Wana operation are being investigated only by Pakistani intelligence agencies and no foreign agency is involved in it.

In an interview, he said it would be pre-mature to say anything about the arrest of the son of Ayman-al-Zawahri. He said operation was being conducted against foreign terrorists. He said if the terrorists surrendered to the government, they would not be handed over to any other government.

Responding to a question, Sheikh Rashid said Osama bin Laden and Ayman-al-Zawahri were in Afghanistan or in the area of Pak-Afghan border. About the presence of US helicopters in Pakistani territory, he said Pak-Afghan border was very complicated and any coincidence could happen.

According to Sana News, American intelligence officials had claimed Osama and his close associate Zawahri had gone back to Afghanistan after the operation was started in Waziristan.

Alive and make him squeal like a pig.

Didn't they catch one of his sons the other day?

He may have ratted old dad out.

I knew I woke up early today for a good reason, just didn't realize what it was until I looked here.

This reminds me so much of other news I first saw on F.R. - Hussein's capture, the Columbia crash... after events like this I find my self completely addicted to checking for breaking news!

Pakistani forces hunt for Osama bin Laden
Last Update: 2/27/2004 8:41:41 AM

(Islamabad, Pakistan-AP) -- Pakistani forces are moving into targeted areas of the country's long border with Afghanistan.

Security sources tell The Associated Press they've intercepted satellite phone calls that indicate some members of al-Qaida may be hiding in the region.

While the officials insist it wasn't Osama bin Laden on the phone, they suspect the terrorist leader might've been mentioned -- by code name -- in some of the calls.

U-S, Pakistani and Afghan officials have long suspected bin Laden is hiding out in a remote border region.
