"First, the essence of saving faith is that Jesus Christ died for my sins."

So you say. Read what others say here. Note - The Catholic Church agrees with you, Our Lord died for your sins and mine. Many flavors of so called Protestants do not agree.

Don't start a religious debate between protestants and Catholics. I will point out that Mary, Joseph and all the others cannot hear your prayers and aren't divine. Only Jesus can and is. Lets not get into theology.

I consider the Catholic Church to be pretty much mixed flavors with all the liberal groups out there. If it keeps going the way its been going the next Pope could be a NAMBLA member.

This one does and so does everyone I know that saw the movie.

There seem to be some Evangelical sects that are critical, but who cares.

Focus on the Family is a big supporter as far as I know. And, so are some 800 different ministers from different churches with different Theologies.

I saw the film and have been changed in a way that I thought impossible.

One question I have is what went down in Jerusalem from Palm Sunday to Good Friday to turn the storry from "Hosanna in the Highest" to "Crucify Him , Crucify Him" That has to the biggest drop in poll numbers in history in the shortest amount of time. Was it a function of just whipped up rabble-rousing of a wishy-washy populace? Or was there more?

I'm getting tired of folks thinking Prods are somehow against this movie or that they have such a big beef with it since Mel is a Catholic traditionalist.

Here in Nashville, the only folks against it are the usual suspects including liberal Reform Jews, Unitarians, and the strata of psuedo-Christians....and not all of any of those groups.

Every mainline Prod group I know here from Church of Christ to Pres/Meth/Baptist to Assemblies of God all heartily endorse this film and are encouraging that view from the pulpit.

Anyone could see this popularity coming the second one heard that the same man who brought us Braveheart, Patriot and We Were Soldiers was bringing us a movie on Christ and better yet starring Caviziel as Christ....dang I knew right then this had strong legs.

The only Prods angry are the fringe and the liberal apostates(NCC) that the Media always trots out as "spokespeople".

Your comments miss the point that this film about the passion of the Lord Jesus does not purport to declare that Jesus died for the sins of those He came to save. Because it does not do so, it cannot be an evangelistic tool.

You are starting an argument between Evangelicals and Roman Catholics. No need to start the argument. You don't win converts that way, and your suppositions are easily refuted. Just be nice, all right?

BTW, I could just as easily say that the "Popes" (including the dead ones and the female ones) have uttered fallacies, heretical doctrines. None of us is perfect, including your pet (false) doctrine of "Apostolic Succession."

Okay, see what you started? Let's agree that Jesus is our sufficient sacrifice, our loving Savior, the one who has interceded for us and placed himself between us and the wrath of God. And leave the divisiveness.

Almost always agree with you, but the "flavors" are all one denomination or another of "mainline" churches.

I've attended hundreds of protestant churches. They all teach the crucifiction of Jesus is the one and only sacrifice for sin.
