WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The current surge in immigration is straining the U.S. health care system to the breaking point, a new report contends.
Immigration policy was identified as a key factor in a growing increase in the uninsured and the fiscal crises burdening public health care systems nationwide, according to a report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

Yes, employers will have to *offer* it, but that doesn't mean employees have to take it.Very good point. Why pay $200/month for insurance when your free ER is just a few blocks away?
Thanks.

I know of a complete hospital in Granada Hills, CA that closed because of bankruptcy from unpaid illegal alien bills.
There is a way out that nobody thought about. All hospitals that want to can become private hospitals with a membership list for only US citens. Nobody will be helped who isn't a member. Just sign up, and for a nominal fee you become a member with a contract. If you have an emergency, YOU tell the paramedics where you should be taken.

On the flip side, that will also drive the bus leading to National Healthcare, paid for at great expense by me and you.

If the Govt. does not require the Guest workers to show financial responsibility it won't fly and since the employer will benefit from from the cheap labor they should be held to account. .>>>>>
Yes, but the gov't is well know for leaving many 'loopholes' in their 100 page bills.......how could they require min. wage jobs to also offer insurance ??

"The total the state (California) spends on illegal immigrants is no more than $4.6 billion a year, with CalWorks being a judgment call. This is a substantial amount, but clearly not enough to account for all of the state's budget gap, which is running $8 billion to $12 billion annually." >>>>>>>
Wonder if this 'total amount' also includes the federal monies CA receives for illegal care, housing, education, jailing, etc, etc. ??

That's only *if* we ever have a 'guest worker' program, & how are they going to force min. wage jobs to offer insurance ??
Right now we have illegals working with phony HS diplomas (when citizens are required to have one), & phony papers & SS#'s (since employers aren't document pro's the feds can't charge them).
These illegals won't buy insurance, & most have enough kids to also get food stamps.
Before any 'guest worker' program comes about, gov't needs to deport the millions already 'embedded' within the US.

Here is a thought for you, you wake up some day and all the immigrants are gone. It's all going well through the morning coffee until you realize there are a lot of things going wrong the freeway traffic is lighter (looks like a holiday).
Then you realize that your taco truck is not there today and you say crap!! I'll wait for lunch.. only to find out at lunch that all the restaurants you frequent are closed or so backed up that you go somewhere else.
Screw the restaurants You go to the Market and get lunch then you notice a huge crowd and not enough product, its weird ... people complaining about stock(not delivered that day) There are no fresh vegetables, the floors are not clean (as usual), then you are frustrated.
You go to the Seven eleven and try to get something as your lunch hour winds down ... tic tic tic Then you get to your last hope only to find out that the owners closed the place because the help did not show up.
Back to work and realize that the Vending machine still has chips and some other things in it.
Is this when you realized that this country has been paralyzed because all the immigrants have either been sent home or took a couple of weeks off.

Hmmm...I know some natural born residents that are doing that...>>>>>>
Maybe if our systems were *overloaded* with illegals, these agencies would have time to catch more of our 'natural born' criminals.

And many more will come as a result.>>>>>>>>
Yes, Blair just announced any immigrants that were jobless "had to go". Seems many of the "Euro's" have limits on immigrates, even from each other.
Also read the 'Sauds' are reducing their 'foreign workforce' by some 3 million.
Hope all these don't just walk in to the USA, also.

This would also put these hospitals out of the medicaid/medicare business.......if you recieve federal monies, you have to treat all (and provide TRANSLATORS).

If citizens "respond" on election days, as they are on a poll I took today, our pols won't even mention a GW program.
Only 3 choices on the poll.....
Deport (asap)...95%
Allow to pay fine & become GW.....4%
Do nothing.....1%
Too bad the White House, Senators & Reps won't run the same poll on their websites & then ACT on the results.......;o)

ROTFLMAO.........First, we're talking about ILLEGALS here......Second, there is NO shortage (and NEVER has been), of immigrants waiting in line to come LEGALLY to the USA, and ASSIMILATE.

I noticed you capitalized the word ILLEGALS and it made me smile. I don't really know how to put it to you in a seventh grade (Readers Digest) context except to tell you that you and your family as well as mine are surrounded by them.
You will not fix the problems because that issue will be handled at a higher level.
Why don't you look around and see what is going on in the real world around you.
I don't know what rotflmao means and I don't really give a crap but I know that without them you are just "another useless citizen craving for critical services".
Oh wow I made my own first accronym AUCCFCS

I know of three families who believe that they are about to live in their Alamo. All weekly lose fences and monthly cattle to criminal alien campfire BBQs. They are about to take .300s with backhoes to clear their fields to protect their ability to earn a living. Two have armored their homes because of receiving incoming fire to make a point to abandon the high traffic trails to the criminal aliens. Except to Mexican gangs, their ranch land value is effectively zero.
