Thanks for the ping! Argghh! I am so tired of the dishonorable Judge Greer giving Michael so much latitude! I pray that something good really comes out of this for Terri and her family. If Michael would give the Schindlers access to the info, that would be one thing. However, it always seems that Michael holds all the cards. IMO, the Schindlers must be a very blessed family. I don't know how they've managed to deal with this all of these years! Michael is totally spiteful and unrepentant. If he would just give in to common decency, none of this would have had to go on for this long. How could anyone possibly be this cruel?

there wasn't a hearing today, so I wonder how this could have happened? Possibilities come to mind...

• Someone (Felos) is having ex parte communications with Judge Greer?
• Michael and or hospice staff at the nursing home believes they can still kill Terri in the next 4 weeks?
• Felos thinks he'll get a big break in the constitutionality question by month's end, and can therefore deep-six this whole issue?
• Bushnell knows they could lose and set a bad precedent, so would rather 'fix' the issue before being held in contempt?
• Someone 'else' is pulling Greer's strings (Demers, Baird, Barbara Sheen Todd, Hemlock Society, etc.?

Schiavo seems to want Terri dead at all costs, and as fast as possible.

Personally, I think the circumstances leading to her present condition need to be reopened and reexamined.

Judge Greer scolded Attorney Swope for asking for continuance or rescheduling without offering Ms. Anderson alternatives. After doing that, he proceeded to reschedule the contempt hearing until Friday, March 5, 2004 at 9.30 am.

I'll just bet that sent shivers down the spine of the HINO's Attorneys. What good did scolding them do when he went ahead and gave them what they wanted anyway. Just a show, that's all.

Something about this whole thing is leaving a very bad taste. It makes me think of Solomon's decision.........

Schiavo: Go on, cut the child in half; I'll take half, and the Schindlers get half. Sounds fair.

Schindlers: We'll take care of her, we want to assume all responsibility for this. She's our daughter, and we love her.

Perhaps a little different from the Biblical story, but same theme. I wouldn't care to use the sword on Terri as Schiavo seems to want. I don't buy his, "It was Terri's wish, she told me so" (yet nobody else can verify this).

Normally, I'm a non-prying person, but I think the relationship between the Schiavos needs careful examination. Something is amiss.

You make some good points in your post. I don't trust Greer (or Michael or Felos and gang for that matter). Pinging NicMarlo to see if she can shed any light on how this could happen before tomorrow's scheduled hearing. Is this a normal procedure? Rescheduling the hearing before going into court at the specified time?

Honorable{?} George W. Greer

Judge Greer was elected to the circuit bench in 1992. As most of you know, the Judge is no stranger to politics. As early as 1972, he began working in judicial campaigns{so he's an experienced campaigner} for Judges Phillip Federico, Grable Stoutamire and Burton Easton. In 1973, the Judge was hired to help create a city charter for the Town of Largo.

After serving on the Board of Adjustment from 1979 to 1984, the Judge decided to run for county commissioner. Naturally, the Judge was the victor. As commissioner, he backed the Pinellas Trail, Penny for Pinellas sales tax{tax increaser} and a redesign of the widening of the Courtney Campbell Parkway.

The Judge has been referred to as a hands-on everyday politician{disgusting meddler?}. Some say that his political prowess was such that when a prospective opponent learned that the Judge was the opposition, the opponent sought another seat.{sounds like a ruthless dirty-pool politician} This was evident in 1992 when the Judge won his seat on the bench without opposition.

In January 1993, Judge Greer was assigned to the Juvenile Division. He was reassigned to the Probate, Guardianship and Trust Division in August 1994. In January of this year he was assigned to the Family Law Division. Judge Greer is experiencing a strong learning curve and is eager to mention that the lawyers have been especially kind to him. He reads everything he can find on family law and talks with other judges and lawyers {I hope NOT on active cases!}. In February, he completed the Family Law Certification Review Course. The Judge brings a special talent to the bench, having been a custodial and a non-custodial parent. He understands the significance of the decisions that he makes. Judge Greer decided back in the early 1970s that he wanted to be a judge {God?}. He considers presiding on the bench to be the ultimate achievement in the legal profession. {HA HA!} The Clearwater Bar Association considers the Judge to be the consummate professional {barf alert}.

In late January, the Clearwater Bar Association judicial poll was released. The Judge ranked number four in the overall score {election year drivel}. He ranked in the top five for legal knowledge and legal ability, impartiality and freedom from bias {huh??}, demeanor, courtesy, judicial temperament and diligence. Although the Judge was born in Brooklyn, NY, he grew up in Dunedin. He graduated from Clearwater High School, St. Petersburg Junior College, Florida State University and received his J.D. from the University of Florida. His first position after graduation was with Wolfe, Bonner & Hogan. From 1969 until 1992, he was a sole practitioner. {isn't that a conflict of interest to actively practice law AND be a paid county commissioner at the same time?}

On a more personal note, the Judge is married to Patricia Greer and is the proud father of twin sons, Jeffery and Jason. Jeffery resides in St. Louis, MO, and Jason resides in Mobile, AL. Both sons miss dad and the great Florida climate. The Judge's parents both passed on in 1991 {IF HE had to pull their plugs, then he should recuse himself on these cases}. The Judge has one sister, Margaret, who he speaks of with deep love and admiration. Margaret and her husband reside in Denver, CO. The Judge frequently can be found on the slopes near Denver. He also enjoys running. Rumor has it, he was quite a basketball player in his more youthful days. The 6th Circuit is especially fortunate to have Judge Greer. His wonderful demeanor coupled with his legal acumen and life experiences are qualities necessary to handle tough legal matters.

According to deposition testimony, Schiavo lives with his "girlfriend" – the mother of his child. The petition asserts this violates Florida Statute 798, which makes living in open adultery a misdemeanor, and proscribes lewd and lascivious cohabitation.

Under Florida Statute 744.474, a guardian found guilty, regardless of adjudication, to any offense prohibited under Florida Statute 435.03, which includes lewd and lascivious behavior, should be removed.

Shouldn't Michael be kept away from Jodi's children, as well as Terri, if he is engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior?

A Bucks County, Pennsylvania newspaper on July 2, 1997,
reported Michael's mother's death, "survived by Michael and fiancee' Jodi" Centonze.
There's no mention of his WIFE Terri. Was his mother's
death hastened too?

(short answer: most likely! Michael's mother died when her
son Michael had her feeding tube removed. Shortly before
that 'illness' Michael's mother had argued that it was
NOT Terri's WISH to die rather than have a feeding tube)
