An interesting aspect of the legislation (S1805) is as follows (from the text of the Bill):
SEC. 2. FINDINGS; PURPOSES. (a) FINDINGS- The Congress finds the following: (1) Citizens have a right, protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, to keep and bear arms.
Better put some ice on that! Hope it passes, just for the citation.

Lautenburg is stumbling through his speech like a drunk in the dark. I think the senators use these extended quorum calls to snort a few lines.
