Let's assume he fell 30 meters, or just shy of 100 feet. Given that d = 0.5 * g * t², neglecting air resistance, we see that 30 = 0.5 * 9.8 m/s² * t². Solving for t, we see that the time t before impact was about 2.5 seconds, give or take. The final, "impact" velocity, then, given by the equation v_f = g * t, must have been 9.8 m/s² * 2.5, or 24.5 m/s, more or less, or about 55 miles per hour.
