The discussion that I had last summer with a friend who resides in D.C., was that the plan was more for "containment". The thought at that time, made me weak in the knees.

This article doesn't say what happened to the Plague Vials that this charming professor sent to Africa....maybe someone on this thread remembers this story and knows the answer.

LUBBOCK -- Dr. Thomas Butler has lost his job, his medical license and now may lose his freedom. Butler, 62, whose report of missing vials of plague bacteria last year sparked a bioterrorism scare, was set to be sentenced Wednesday.

The former Texas Tech professor faces as many as 240 years in prison, although he'll likely get far fewer under federal sentencing guidelines. He also faces fines up to $11.7 million…..

"Containment." Now, THAT is scary. I'm sure it's true, but the connotation is dreadful.
