'64 convention redux? If so, then who are the Goldwaterians, and who are the Rockefellerians? ;) Of course the flaw in my comparison is that we've got a sitting GOP president. Thank God for that. But in any case, the Right need to retake the GOP before it's destroyed.
The Conservatives, today, I will admit are in disarray. Karl Rove--dysron, though he be--seems to have intimidated many who were such before 2001, into going along with the absurd. The Rockefeller wing, now are simply referred to (as they sought to be then) as "moderate Republicans"; they favor more Internationalism than most Americans, and appear to have embraced a tangental movement that calls itself "neo-cons." But I agree with your statement:
"But in any case, the Right need to retake the GOP before it's destroyed."That is precisely why I have written the article, which I know is not going to make some of my good friends, who just want to go along, happy, Karl Rove--Dysron, Quack or Mole?. We cannot sweep the issues among us, under the carpet. We need a frank and open debate, in which the issues are analyzed in depth, and the grass-roots of the party make a rational rather than a forced decision.
