John McAdams, a political scientist at Marquette University, said resentment of Bush is particularly strong among liberals who already hold three things against him: "First, he's a conservative. Second, he's a Christian. And third, he's a Texan.

Looks like they got it wrong on two counts. Isn't Bush actually from Connecticut?

I meant "if it was true". Just using it as an example that if the perception/image is bad it will hurt him, even if everything is going great on a factual level. Most voters don't dig that deep. They vote on how it "looks" .

It's true. I know many who are incenced about the illegal alient amnesty. He lost much support there. It is just a fact.

Many are running as fast as they can from that fact.

And here's our old friend Maria Yurasek, who attended a caucus on February 8th:

Maria Yurasek, who attended a caucus at Spokane's Chase Middle School, said Dean "reminds me of an old boyfriend. He seems angry. I don't think Dean can beat Bush. I would vote for a dog if he could beat Bush. I would vote for Satan."

These are not average voters that AP is digging up. I will bet that Donovan was interviewed at her paper recently, while Yurasek, a physician from Spokane, was cherry picked from her interview on the eigth. These are Rat party activists.

I could be wrong about Donovan, but I don't think I am.

What does this tell me?

The average Democrat is not angry with the President. Most will vote Democrat because that's what most partisans do. But Bush will pull off enough Democratic voters to win the election handily, I suspect, especially after his media campaign gets going. There are very few Republicans who are angry enough with Bush to pull the lever for Kerry, especially once Bush is done defining him.

I agree. Through "Meet-up" I recently joined a group of conservatives who meet and plan to help re-elect George Bush. I would say half the group has had NO desire in the past to be politically active but 9-11 and the war on terrorism has changed them and brought them into political activity. Also we have some young college students who are FIRED up.
