This is by far the best worded article I've read on this forum. Does this guy publish any books? I'd like to read them.

His most recent book is "Mexifornia". I haven't read it but it is basically a book about what is happening in California regarding illegal immigration.
He also wrote "Ripples of Battle", which is about how three specific battles changed the entire history of mankind.
He writes with a very broad historical, and worldwide scope. I like his stuff because he is good at explaining how this war will be viewed in the long run, despite the momentary silliness of our, ahem, loyal opposition. He submits regularly to National Review Online.

VDH is very good... I'm surprised he (or his editor) missed his "19th century" mistake (should be "20th century"). Oh, well... It's the weekend.

Mexifornia
Ripples of Battle
Soul of Battle
Carnage and Culture
I've read the last one, am half-way through Soul of Battle, and plan on reading the other two. Hanson is a professor of Greek Classics at Cal State - Fresno (I think). He has a wide perspective on war and the motivations behind it.

He also co-authored _Who Killed Homer?_, a book on the decline of Classical Studies in America.
