Just came across a photograph that appears to be the very same section of the Mt. McKinley range I photographed in 1965!

I took three of those slides and created an oil painting (15 3/4" x 19 1/2") composite of them.
The foreground was not green then, but had lovely mauvey/peachy flowers abounding by a stream meandering through the landscape; the stream mirroring the purplish range.

It created disharmony at home when I did it in 1972, though. My husband had decided he wanted to do oil paintings and invested in the requisite equipment. Did 3 or 4 paintings while outside in the carport, and the neighborhood children gathered around and laughed..:))
He put them out at the curb for garbage pickup, crushed...

The next week I had a day off from work, and taking the 3 slides, thought I'd give painting a try, and painted away from 9:30 until 4 p.m. - the only free time I had before the children were home from school.

It turned out a reasonable facsimile, and he never painted again - nor did I.
Let there be Peace in the Valley - LOL

Here is that range line.
You cannot discern it very well here,
but behind the dark line,
the taller white peaks soar to the sky:

All your pretty photos are almost as pretty as Rainbow Bridge--the perfect place to run and play. Between committee meetings.

My wife and I just bought tickets to The Passion of The Christ.
Wednesday night at 7:30..the 7pm show was sold out.
I think we all need to flood the theatres on opening night
to send hollyweird a message.
We refuse to watch you immoral crap anylonger.

Oh BTW, I will be reading Zell Millers speech to my Church Congregation tommorrow at 10 AM.

If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the guy who once said:

"I woke up one morning and all of my stuff had been

stolen and replaced by exact duplicates."

Here are a few more of his gems -- some you may have seen.

A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts

feel so good.

A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?
