Anything you might want to revisit later just respond with a "bump" to the thread. That will place it in the "your comments" header at the top.

Don't blink as often... ;-)
Series, you just have to decide what to respond to and what not to. Also, don't read the posts completely, skim them. Of course, if you think you're going to need to repsond, reading the post is encouraged...

Print every article you want to read, and then read them when you are using the "little boys room."

1. Hit refresh and scan down visually until you see something interesting.
2. Read it and reply if you so choose.
3. Hit back button to return to list of posts.
4. Continue scanning down visually.
5. When you get to the last post, go to step 1.

I tend to make use of the google search engine
I go to the www.google.com site and in the search field I type something like:
Hillary Unreconstructed Bolshevik Communist Clinton site:www.freerepublic.com
Usually gets some hits

One thing I've found helpful: If you have some particular subject or issue that really interests you, read threads on those topics to see if anyone posting there is using a "ping" list. Post a reply to them asking that they add you to their ping list. That way you will always find threads about your topics of interest in your "my comments" section.
Also, frequent checking in the "breaking news" section of the sidebar will help you make sure you don't miss any major breaking news stories.

LOL! Listen to Judith Anne - go back before it's too late!
What you can do that helps is to open multiple browser windows. And ditto on the caffeine.
To: NotchJohnson
1.Get on several people ping lists to information you are interested in.
2.Peruse the intro to the thread, and just read the one you are REALLY interested in.
3.Use the search for areas you really want to know more about.
4. Use side bars on opening page. (Breaking news etc) then subscribe to that areas if it "floats your boat"

Try tabbed browsing, for example with the
Mozilla Firefox 0.8 browser. You can keep lots of pages open in one window, so it doesn't crowd your taskbar.

Visit the General Interest (Chat) Forum. Things move much slower over there.
