There is also a great deal of archaeological evidence to support the use of nails. Yes they were probably put through the wrists, but that is splitting hairs.

The early Christians also believed Christ was coming back within their lifetimes.

I don't see what difference it makes whether there were nails; the gospels do not mention nails.

Crucifixion could take days. Christ was weakened from the scourging, and had lost blood, so his death came fairly quickly.

To add to the humiliation, it was also fairly common to completely strip the person who was to be crucifed. There's no reason to think Christ was spared this insult.

And the Romans did not take the bodies down after death. If a family member didn't remove the body, it simply hung on the cross, for vultures and other vermin to pick at.

I thought Lukes Gospel ,and Johns' were both part of the Gospel accounts? Luke24:39"Behold my hands and my feet,that
it is I myself;"May not be conclusive but does beg the question why Jesus,the Resurrected ,instructed them to look at these specific parts of His resurected body?And in John20:24-29 the account of Thomas called Didymus speaks of the print of the nails(v.25) and Jesus response (v.27)
I've seen no credible evidence NOT to believe the Gospel

And John would have had to have misquoted Thomas in the original Greek, likewise.

And it is written in John when Thomas sees Jesus after the resurrection. He sees the wounds in his hand and in his side.

Critics od Christianity must find ways to discredit it. So they nick pick at these type of items. Yet the Gospels talk of Nails and the wounds. With out the wounds and blood there is no "cleansing" of our sins. Therefore if doubt about the wounds is planted in someones mind the doubt about salvation can take root.

No proof that Juesus was nailed to the cross? Other than 4 eyewitness accounts and the Shroud of Turin.

But those little fact kinda get in the way of the story!
