How was it at all possible that the state would EVER honor these licenses issued in direct violation of state law?
It would be as if the local DMV began issuing drivers licenses to 10 year olds because they were being "discriminated against" based on age.

It would be as if the local DMV began issuing drivers licenses to 10 year olds because they were being "discriminated against" based on age. Wait til people begin to demand to be able to "chose" which gender they list on their driver's license.
After all, driver's licenses shore up gender-based discrimination.
