[Doug Gamble - speechwriter, columnist] 5:15 am With each passing hour, California law is being broken again and again in San Francisco, as the city continues to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, and perform same sex marriages, on the orders of Mayor Gavin Newsom.
What is absolutely astounding is that neither the chief law enforcement officer of this state, the attorney general, nor the governor have had any comment whatsoever. Is there any other state in the country where either the governor or attorney general would allow a mayor to openly flout the law and not make so much as a peep? It reminds me of the early hours of the Rodney Kings riots in Los Angeles when the police stood back and watched looters make off with merchandise from stores without lifting a finger to stop them. What is being looted in San Francisco is the sanctity of marriage.
If Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, at the very least, will not take the cigar out of his mouth long enough to condemn the law-breaking in San Francisco, he should be challenged for re-nomination by a conservative in 2006. The failure of Schwarzenegger and Lockyer to speak out or to act can be summed up in two words: Political cowardice. This issue is just too hot for either of them to handle, and their cowardice is a disgrace.

Pretty sad when the gay mafia can inspire apparent fear of political reprisal on the part of the Govinater. The gay mafia have destroyed this state, even as they have sent real estate prices upward. Personally, I'd rather have lower appreciation and more of a family friendly state to live in. What will it take to take back California?

I won't say "I told you so" but I predicted this last year. Governor RINOld ate so many steroids that he doesn't have the stones the job requires in general and in particular to balance the state budget by cutting costs instead of more expensive bonds that only costs us more and puts off the inevitable. RINOld refuses to stand by his campaign promise of not issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens and he doesn't have the courage to have Mayor Newsom arrested for breaking the law. Those "marriage licenses" aren't worth the paper they're written on and the next thing these queers will be doing is suing the City of SF for issuing them bogus marriage licenses. Every "ambulance chaser" in the state will be knocking down the doors of the courthouse trying to file lawsuits! ROFLMAO

It is particularly galling to me personally given that me and my wife got *our* marriage licence from the SF City Hall some years ago! Never did I think I would look back with nostalgia at the Willie Brown years (to be fair, our licence was from the Jordan years...) but ... I am!

governor@governor.ca.govAnd don't forget:
bill.lockyer@doj.ca.gov
I just sent a strongly-worded email to both of them. In my experience, that's not nearly as effective as snail mail, so I'll be sending them both several letters each. Keep in mind that Lockyer wants to run for governor, so make sure he knows that any chance of your support (yeah right) hinges on his handling of this issue.

Remember in Kindergarden Cop Arnold protected the little children. I guess that was only in the movies. In real life the kids get to grow up in the homosexual community with the blessings of the governor.

"from the Jordan years..." and those were years when you could eat off the sidewalks in SF. I suspect before too long there will be many who would trade these days for those when an Irish cop named Jordan was mayor. LOL Now you need a garbageman for a mayor to carry out the trash! Well there's still hope for SF...Rudy did it in NYC even though the present mayor is screwing everything up again. It looks like people allow the liberals to run things into the ground until they are fed up and then they elect a Republican to straighten out the mess.

yep. The old (R) team mentality. The same ones keep hitting the button for the wrong person. Then complain when they win. Everyone knew in advance what they were getting.
Team spirit produces such bad candidates. They put a liberal (R) in office. Why that's better than a liberal (D)
still confuses me.
