JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The collapse of part of Jerusalem's Western Wall during a rare snowstorm sparked a row between Jewish and Muslim clerics Sunday as one rabbi called it a miracle no worshippers were hurt.

The collapse late Saturday of an 800-year-old embankment next to where Jewish women pray at the site commonly known as the "wailing wall" sent people fleeing from tumbling rocks.

The Muslim authority for the area, the Waqf, blamed Israeli building work nearby for the problem; but an Israeli architect said construction by Arabs was making the wall unstable.

"It's a miracle nobody was hurt," said rabbi Shmuel Rabinovich, blaming time and the weather for the collapse.

Engineers were also looking at whether a small earthquake last week might have played a part in the incident. Israeli police kept people away from the site Sunday.

The head of the Waqf, whose authority includes the Al-Aqsa mosque above the wall, said it had been complaining about Israeli renovations of the Western Wall plaza for some time.

"We've been saying it could cause problems," said Adnan al-Husseini.

Israeli archaeologist Eilat Mazar said it was the fifth time in two years that parts of the walls had begun to crumble, buckle or crack as a result of what she called unsupervised construction by the Waqf -- a charge the Muslim clerics deny.

"What concerns me most is the Temple Mount itself is in danger of collapsing...The earthquake has certainly done more damage but nobody goes to check," she told Reuters.

Jewish women worship separately from men and Rabinovich said partitions would be set up in the men's section to allow women to pray there until their area was made safe after the collapse.

New Yorker Frady Schwartz, praying at the wall Sunday, was unfazed; she said with a shrug: "It's in God's hands."

That's what I thought...But another theory I find troubling is that Some Jews think the coming of there Messiah will be a Great Political Leader a Jew who will Re-Build the temple he will be a human being and he will bring Peace on earth..Now this is what in the Christian faith will be the Anti-Christ..Satan himself...How will this play-out is very troubling Christians accusing him of being the devil Jews identifying him as Messiah???this could be a major battle with Christians trying to execute him, especially if this happens in our lifetime..

Zechariah 6: 8,12,15 say that Tzemakh will build the Temple. Is this the Messiah, or is it George Bush?

In the book of Malakhi, it is said of the Messiah that he will Suddenly Come TO HIS TEMPLE.

This shows that the Temple will be rebuilt before He comes.

That is why the Muslims are hogging the Jewish Temple's site... This way they can keep the Messiah from coming back and fulfilling Judeo-Christian [i.e. Bible] prophecy, and proving Muhammad to be a false prophet.

There are some who believer writing "God" on anything that can be destroyed risks defaming His name.

It would be an act of sacrilege to tear up or burn a piece of paper with "God" written on it even if it happened accidentally.

So to be on the safe side the name is never written, He is referred to as He, Tetragrammaton (from YHWH, the Hebrew version of Jehovah) or G-d.

Apparently for believers erasing ones and zeros would have the same effect.

Don't worry, missyme. One of the definitions of the time of Moshiach, is that there will be PEACE on earth, and all people alive at that time will accept that he is the Moshiach.

Exactly the Anti-Christ will be responsible for re-building the Temple,so I take it he will be responsible for signing a treaty with the Arabs and the Jews,possibly someone from the United Nations, this will be the 7yr pre-trib before the 2nd coming where at that point Messiah enters the Temple..is that your understanding?

That has to be done FIRST, then he will go into a terrible rage and be revealed.

There is a group in the Old City (of Jerusalem) which has a museum for the rebuilding of the Temple. They have on display tools to be used in the Temple, which anyone is welcome to view. There are also Jews and Christians who are working together to find the red heifer, which is needed for service in the Temple. Then there is also the Temple Mount Faithful, which seeks to lay the corner stone of the Temple, and occasionally makes an issue of the irony that they are not allowed on the area of the Temple mount, now controlled by the Wakh.

In the Christian faith and Prophecy, we are told to be ready for this false Messiah who will be a Great Politcal Leader who will bring Peace to earth and people will worship him as Messiah. He will sign a treaty with Israel and the Arab world....Christians will not worship him, so either were raptured, killed or put in jail, for denying this man.

I am told that many of the implements, including the great Temple Menorah, have already been made ready, and they are working on sewing the robes for the priests who will officiate.

As for the Holy Ark of the Covenant, this is supposed to be found, so they will not have to make it over again, the original will be in the Third Temple.
