Excuse me, but you are talking to someone who did little else but study the Australian media for 3 and a half years, and has the degree from RMIT University Melbourne to prove it.

,,, of course. I should have picked that up from your ability on this thread.

sorry to hear about your floods over there. Sympathies to those affected.

,,, thanx Jacqui. The lower North Island has taken quite a hit. The Manawatu River is at it's highest point since 1953. Loss adjusters have estimated over $NZ50m in damages so far - quite a freak ordeal for the middle of summer.

Okay, so that's either gotta be a dig at Australian higher education or you forgot to put the tag in, am I correct?

Let's hope the day never comes when such strategies will be required here in America. But to pretend that they never will (which is what the benign gun-banners think) is to hasten the day when it may indeed be required. To me, my government and my people alike are not my enemies. In fact, I feel very strongly that my government is only what I and my countrymen allow it to be. If this system of government doesn't work, what else possibly could? We simply must make it work! The McVeigh-style anti-American terrorist is no better than the Taliban or al Qaeda; in some ways he is worse. His treachery is unexpected and wholly undeserved.

However, there is a running political battle over how to read the Constitution. We have to work together to put this argument behind us. How? I believe voting, supporting pro-gun organizations, and pro-gun advocacy like Travis McGee and you conduct are essential to preventing such a need from arising. Maintaining firearms skills is also part of that preventative medicine. It's a willingness to defend our rights that keeps us free. We need to encourage that kind of responsible enthusiasm for firearms, especially in the younger generation. Who else will maintain the cause when we're gone? Besides, they are indoctrinated from the moment they set foot in a public school room until the day they receive their state university diplomas that to encourage patriotic firearms skills is to fall in leage with the McVeigh-style hate groups.

As you say, unarmed people cannot easily resist when tyrants reveal their true nature. Stay armed, stay safe, and stay free.
