NYT excerpt, Kerry: "I just deny it categorically. It's rumor. It's untrue, period."

From the NYTimes article "Clark Comes Aboard Kerry Campaign" by Sheryl Gay Stolberg:
Earlier in the day, Mr. Kerry proclaimed himself a "fighter" in an interview with Don Imus, the radio talk show host.
Asked why Mr. Bush's National Guard service during the Vietnam era as well as the senator's own history as a decorated Vietnam veteran who became a war protester were an issue, Mr. Kerry said, "It seems to be the war that won't ever go away," and called it "the pivotal event of our generation."
He said of his decision to oppose the Vietnam War, "Look, I didn't love coming back from the war I fought in and having to tell people, `This is wrong, this is screwed up,' but it was and we lost a lot of lives."
Mr. Kerry also denied to Mr. Imus and again later to reporters in Wisconsin a charge posted Thursday on the Web site of the Internet gossip columnist Matt Drudge that the senator had had an extramarital affair.
"Is there anything, anything, that's going to come up?" Mr. Imus said, before making an oblique reference to the Drudge report.
Mr. Kerry replied: "There's nothing to report. So there's nothing to talk about. I'm not worried about it."
Later in the day after a town-hall-style question-and-answer appearance with Gov. Jim Doyle, Mr. Kerry told reporters: "I just deny it categorically. It's rumor. It's untrue, period."

I think, mind you, I'm not sure, that Kerry was supposedly in Vietnam. Now, I've not heard him mention this, so don't take my word for it. Really? I've asked at least a dozen Vietnam war vets and they can't remember ever seeing Kerry in Vietnam at any time. AWOL? Deserter?

My reply is what he always says.
Most of the Viet Nam vets I know that were really shot up and/or saw major action up close, don't bring up Viet Nam at all!
They don't need to.

I've heard of women, who were married to WWII vets, who never heard their husbands mention the war until they were gravely ill (as in the case of Alzheimer's), or on their deathbeds.

On the other hand, we ALL know how this would continue if the story were about President Bush..
"President Bush continues to deny the relationship, but our reporters continue to dig deeper and have discovered that his second cousin twice removed doesn't remember seeing him at the barber shop in July, 1972, when he was supposed to pick up his mother.."

Kerry sounds like he thinks he has paid enough money to be safe from anything. Wonder what his military records look like.

Did Kerry really find that silver star in the field after a protest and claim it was his?
He has a "story" about an incident on a boat. That incident wasn't enough to be voted a silver star. So, where did the star REALLY come from?

Kerry sounds like he thinks he has paid enough money to be safe from anything. I remember reading the womans friend has something on video tape. Maybe it was taped for "life insurance."
My guess is if she sold it to Kerrys wife for a few millions, she still has a copy - just in case.
Clinton thought he was safe, until his left pointing little weeness left a goober on Monica's dress. Opps.

>>I hope the affair story dies....and his VVAW days pick up a ton of steam.<<
What's wrong with both of them going full throttle at once? Hit him from both sides.
