Ryan Anderson is shown in a high school yearbook
photo. Anderson, a National Guardsman stationed
at Fort Lewis in Washington state, was arrested
Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, and accused of trying to
provide information to the al-Qaida terrorist network,
the Army said Thursday. Spc. Anderson, 26, who
converted to Islam, is a tank crew member from
the National Guard's 81st Armor Brigade, a 4,200-
member unit set to depart for Iraq. He is a 1995
graduate of Cascade High School in Everett, Wash.
