[history]
When you are a conservative and tend to support conservatives, it will come as a surprise, and an unwelcome one, when you ding one, as I dinged President Bush the other day about his "Meet the Press" performance. Of those who responded, about 60% disagreed with me, and the rest were more or less in agreement. Many of those who disagreed with me said they thought the president had done well with Tim Russert, that the interview made clear his decency and sincerity. Others said I was kicking the president when he's down and that's the problem with conservative pundits, they can't be trusted. My answer is the obvious one: It is the job of a writer to write the truth as he sees it, and if it's an uncomfortable truth, then so be it.

Just keep right on posting...all it's doing is proving that you don't know a damned thing about investing, or current events, nor history. :-)
Many people are being prosecuted, who did " funny " things to the books at ENRON. President Bush had NOTHING to do with that, or with Global Crossings ( but the Clintonistas did !), or ImClone, or even with MSO and good old Martha's lying etc.!
Think about this, you invested, you panicked, you took what was left, in a panic move, and now you are crying, because you lost money and the market is ( and has been for well over a year ) going up.Wall Streeters say that there are three kinds of investors...Bulls, Bears, and Pigs. The PIGS always lose.
Tell me,did you adore Clinton, because your retirement account rose when he was president? Is THAT why you didn't post to FR back then ? :-)

Why can't these supposedly intelligent people accept that many of us actually think he did well?
What she thinks is "bumbling" is how Bush always talks, That's his style and we are use to it and like it.
What she thinks is "repetitive" she'd better ask her idol Timmy Russert, how can you not be "repetitive" when you are asked repetitive questions?
She is in my category of Fair Weather Bush supporter.

Exactly. SAR1 was just parroting what he/she reads in the press.
Anyone with ONE BRAIN CELL knows that's not how the markets work.
The only people that took it on the chin with Enron were the Enron employees that were STUPID enough to keep all of their investment in Enron stock and were actually HELPING to perpetuate it's lie.
Didn't you love all those RICH Enron employees testifying to Congress about how they lost their homes in Aspen, their third Mercedes, had to take their kids out of the best private schools? I cried for days!

Peggy is amoung the best and helped write some of the most rememberable speeches of all time. Peggy is not someone that should be blown off so easily.
Well said and worth repeating.

I bought the boxed set and THE HOBBIT in 1965, when it first came out that way. I thought that, from the " buzz ",that I would LOVE it; as it sounded right up my alley. In those days, I read a book through, even if I hated it. I couldn't make it through the first third of THE HOBBIT. I scanned the first RING book and never looked at them again.
I watched the first movie. It was so-so. I tried to watch the second movie and couldn't stand it. I didn't even make it through the 1/2 way point.
I saw Lynch's movie of " DUNE " and loved it. Then I read the books and watched the two mini series ; which I didn't care for.
What can I say? That's just the way it is. LOL

Help the White House make the case for re-election Easy. Hanging around my college last week, I met an Arab-Christian professor who is not only pro-America, but also pro-Israel, and frequently talks to his family back in Iran.
He said that the Arabs are fucking scared of Bush. He took out two of their countries with relative ease and with help of only a few allies. Bush is willing to wipe out their countries if push comes to shove.
Kadaffhi knows this and caved faster than Superman on laundry day.

Okay, shall do!

Please, please, PLEASE.........do yourself and FR a favor, GO BACK TO SLEEP !
Either that, or go read the last 6 years of FR achieves, watch FNC, and at least attempt to enlighten yourself. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh...........no wonder you lost 60-70% of your retirement funds; if you did.
To: nopardons
Wow, you watched "Dune" and then read it? So many people would never do that!
I watched "Jaws" and then read the book also. The book was much better.
I didn't mind "Dune" or LOTR when I read them except for the length. I skipped over a few dozen pages of descriptions of mountainous scenery. Thus, the movies are great to give me the view.
I loved both movies and haven't seen the last one yet but will when it comes out on DVD.
I, as I'm sure I've mentioned, don't like going to movie theaters.

Peggy is a mercenary, I'm sorry to say. She wrote a good book about Reagan, and then promptly sold her soul to Adam Sorkin of "West Wing" as a "consultant". Peggy needs a paycheck these days, and she doesn't get one from the real White House.
To: nopardons
"Watch FNC"? Go back one year and see how many of their horror tales about Iraq and WMD were true. In fact do that to yourself and your posts.

Give it another year, and you'll regret what you said. I figure she'll be as loony and liberal as Arianna Huff'n'Puff.

Pundits like a politician to be slick. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a speech or interview that was analyzed afterwards by half a dozen political "experts", only to find myself thinking, "Huh?? That's not what I thought of it at all!"
She's no exception.
Bush is real. It's part of what we love about him, for better or for worse. When will these political professionals begin to "get it"?
