Rep. Harold Ford, D-Tenn., who was one of Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry's earliest backers in Congress, went ballistic Wednesday morning when asked about the photo published Monday by NewsMax.com showing Kerry demonstrating against the Vietnam war with "Hanoi" Jane Fonda.
"Don't bring that up," an angry-sounding Ford told "Fox & Friends" co-host Steve Doocy.
Referring to the controversy over President Bush's military record, Ford threatened to "revive this thing on the National Guard" if questions about Kerry's Jane Fonda connection persist.
The Tennessee Democrat attempted to defend Kerry's decision to team up with Fonda after she adopted his group, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, as her leading cause.
"For someone who went over there and almost gave his life, [Kerry] pretty much can say whatever the heck he wants to say, in my book," he told "Fox & Friends."
But in an audio clip played by top radio host Rush Limbaugh Wednesday afternoon, Ford continued to seethe over the photo picturing his candidate with the Vietnam War traitor.
"If you want to show pictures of him with Jane Fonda and other things, then the president ought to produce all the evidence [about his Guard service]," he railed.
Although it was not clear whether he was speaking for Kerry, Ford offered to cut a deal in a bid to halt discussion over Kerry's relationship with "Hanoi" Jane.
"I'm willing to put all of [Bush's Guard record] aside and not bring any of that up ... but you better do the same with John Kerry," proposed Ford. "It's clear where [Kerry] was [during the early 1970s] And at this moment it's unclear where the president was."
The congressman urged the GOP to keep its focus on the issues that are important to America's future rather than rehashing irrelevant details from Sen. Kerry's past.

He is pissed off because the Democratic leadership told him to get to the back of the bus when they chose Bella Pelosi and Minority leader in congress. She dissed him bad too about his age and inexperience. Once again the Dems tell blacks to the back of the bus.

This is the whole reason for the attack on Bush - to deflate the attacks on Kerry. By trying to make Bush look horendously bad with lies, then cowing behind the standard "let's tone down the rhetoric" begging, they hope to blunt attacks on Kerry's bad record. No, I don't think that's it. The whole thing started with a throwaway line from Michael Moore when he endorsed Wesley Clark, about him looking forward to a debate between a general and a deserter. Peter Jennings questioned Clark about it, and Clark fumbled badly, torpedoing his own campaign. Then Terry McAuliffe ran with it, and Kerry chimed in. And their stenographers in the media wrote down every word.
Now, our side is finally fighting back, and finding that pic of Kerry and Fonda together opens up a big can of worms. The thing is, the Dems brought it on themselves by dragging out this Guard nonsense again. If they hadn't done that, and our side brought up the anti-war protests, they could say that it's ancient history, and this campaign is about our future, not our past, blah blah blah. But they can't claim that now.

Someone should ask Harold Jr about his military service. No Gulf War 1, Somalia or Bosnia. Noooo his daddy told him the service is no place for a black man. Get elected in my seat when I retire.

The Kerry people are having a tantrum. Isn't that cute? I just love it when Rats have tantrums when they've been outed! (Especially when there's books with pics that caught them...: )

Don't bring up Bill Clinton, Vince Foster, Dem whores, FBI Files, Jane "Viet Cong" Fonda, and what ever Ford has in his closet. /sarcasm

Would a picture of the book cover alone suffice (#52)?
I don't see why not, has this picture been sent to any media?

Did anyone else notice the striking resemblance of the photo of Harold Ford in Post #66 to Louis Farrakhan? Maybe there was a mix-up at the hospital and Harry's not a Ford after all.

Here's a curiousity... the last copy sold on eBay -- yesterday -- went to a bidder named "MetaFreeper." Do you suppose
I'd love to see it pop up in public. Kerry deserves DISGRACE!

Sure Ford will keep the Kerry campaign from making anti-Bush Nat'l Guard records an issue. BUT, he certainly would not have anything to do with McAwful and the rest of the dem shills making hay!
What a maroon!
Keepp the Kerry-Fonda ties in the headlines!
