[history]
President Bush received credit for attending Air National Guard drills in the fall of 1972 and spring of 1973 -- a period when his commanders have said he did not appear for duty at bases in Montgomery, Ala., and Houston -- according to two new documents obtained by the Globe.

I expect this story to die this week. I think Kerry will be satisfied to have convinced some that President Bush was a deserter, to have raised the question in the minds of some others, and to have drawn attention away from his own base acts protesting the war in Viet Nam.
He'll think that the issue of his protests is moot, that he's taken the sting out of accusations directed at him by attacking the president.
But he's wrong. A lot of people will actually listen and learn that President Bush's guard service was valid...and remember Kerry's now-embarrassing protests. Especially those who have served...

And the sad thing is that the DemonRATs expected the AWOL charge to fly the second time after McCain had the wings shot out from it. If there wasn't so much vote fraud that there's a distinct possibility of them getting power again, their attempts at smears would be pathetically funny instead of simply pathetic.

This won't be good enough for John F'n Kerry.....he's a war hero. Did you know that? He was in a country far far away with a rifle not knowing who was friend or foe. Bush didn't serve his country, he was only in the National Guard. (sarcasm)

Now that there appear to be actual days listed for GWB being at NG meetings in AL, it would be nice to have other NG members who were also present on those days come forward and verify attendance. Let's put this issue to bed - once and for all. Corroborating testimony is always good when driving home a point.

But its commander has said Bush never appeared.
This is untrue.
The man has said he doesn't "remember." He was a BrigGen at the time. Why would a brig gen note a lietenant showing up or not?
That's like saying that a deputy division commander should know if a lieutenant in the G-3 shop was there every day or not.
It's not the BG's job to know that.

I was wondering about that too. Since they're the ones who started this whole mess maybe they figured the only way to save face is to be the ones who clear him.

Well by all means, forward it on over to Little Chrissy.
Perhaps with a note, suggesting that real journalists report the facts not make stories up to support a political party.

Anything seem strange about this?"
I found that very odd that they would list his website, but claim he has no "formal affiliation" with the DemonRats. Um...are we supposed to be stupid or what?

"George Mag, indepth look at GW's NG stint With documentation."
Yes, and they ran that story in October 2000--which is to say just a few days after the AWOL charge first arose publicly.
BTW, as you know, George Magazine determined after looking very carefully at Bush's records, that he probably served MORE time than he was actually required to.

As you all know, the difficulty with this issue is that the left will play it as long and as hard as they can. In fact, they will continue to "question" and "wonder" until the actual facts are disseminated so far and wide that they'll actually look stupid for continuing to beat a dead horse.
It is also obvious, from their position, that the tactic is to smear Bush through this campaign of "questions" and innuendo until enough people (measurably significant) are aware of the true facts and then they'll drop it like it never existed and give it no more ink. In that way, an equal measure of setting the record straight can be omitted and the tactic of "questioning" the motives of Bush's political enemies for raising the issue cannot come home to roost.
If you'll recall, most minor clinton scandals were handled through a variation of this tactic (the disappearing ink trick) and only the biggies were half-heartedly reported because of existant public knowledge obtained through alternative sources. Principally because of the outrageous bias demonstrated by the press and the flagrant abuse of their charged duties (remember clinton's press finale and the lavish party where they all gave each other tongue baths?), their vaunted credibility took massive hits that they haven't recovered from to this day.
However, since the Mullahs at the NYT and the Globe have spoken, it seems that this smear may have outlived it's usefulness as far as the elite media circles are concerned. In other words, the biggest wave has crested on the sand. Of course, minor-league dolts at the Gopher Gulch Gazette may still write barn-burning articles about it, but hey, we already know the nature of the beast and their aversion to the truth, eh?

Boston Globe is not a FAN of Kerry
The Globe has dirt on Kerry on his conduct in Vietnam, his "romeo" days with hollywood types, and how the city move the fire hydrant in front of his house so that Therasa can park her SUV there..
Don't be surpised by this liberal rag have more stuff on Kerry. Afterall, a Kerry win in 2004 will doom all the hopes of a Hillary Presidency in 08 (that's may well be the ONLY good can come from a Kerry win).

I don't think any significant numbers of votes will be determined on this issue. Those who use it as a one-issue litmus would have cast their votes the same way.
Net gain or loss on this 'issue': zero.

Notice how the media can dig at a story when they wish to. They've managed to demonstrate the president is honest and served honorably, yet still they insinuate there is something being hidden, something deceitful going on.
Clymers.
Now, just think of a dem...any dem. Just think if the media wanted to investigate a story and wanted to take that politician down. Piece of cake! They'd actually be on to a REAL SCANDAL. Think Clinton WH, for starters. I would have loved this unending analysis directed at, say, the John Huang story and why he was at Commerce in the first place, and why the WH lied about there being two John Huangs, and why clinton personally moved him to the DNC and he retained top secret clearance and had that secret office across the street and made phone calls to China. But that's just me.
Lord, give me strength.

-"the fall of 1972 and spring of 1973 -- a period when his commanders have said he did not appear for duty at bases in Montgomery, Ala., and Houston..." QUESTIONS...
-How was George Bush able to receive an Honorable Discharge from the Guard if he was confirmed to be AWOL by "his commanders"?
-Did "his commanders" (quoted and referred-to in the above article) notate George Bush's his "did not report for duty" violations in any Guard report or log?
-If not, then why are not "his commanders"'s credibilty being called into question? Wouldn't "his commanders" themselves be violating Guard regulations by NOT REPORTING George Bush's "did not report for duty" violations?
Seems to be like this is an easy cunnard to poke holes into, but the BUSH people and BUSH himself, are fumbling the opportunity to REALLY GO AFTER this insidious flap!

I suspect little Chrissy reads FR. Let's just let him keep reporting disinformation. Maybe I'll hold my nose and watch him spit all over himself this evening..
