"William Kriske, a 47-year-old parolee"

Too bad she didn't kill the sob - maybe next time, because you KNOW the way our system works, this repeat-offender-punk will be working your neighborhood soon.

Question: If I wound an intruder, whats the best way to finish him off while staying inside the "justifiable force" guidelines? I'm pretty sure if I walk up to his prone body and do a double tap to head & chest I could be charged with something.

This is a little scary, though. Even forty years ago when I lived there, Rancho Cordova was wall-to-wall houses. She really should have been using a shotgun with fairly small shot.

would not be charged for defending herself with properly registered firearms.

Real big of him... and "The State"...."allowing" the peasants to do their jobs for them....

That varies from state to state. In my home state of Tennessee, according to the Tennessee Code, the TCA, if an intruder unlawfully enters your home it is assumed under the law that your life is in danger and you can shoot to kill. If an intruder is unlawfully on your property you can use whatever non-lethal force is necessary to hold them until the authorities arrive.

``He was like a mosquito hitting the window. Every time he turned around, powee,'' she told the Sacramento Bee.

LOL

Keep repeating,"I was in fear for my life", over and over.

Can't depend on small shot to make a solid stop of a adrenalin-filled perp unless you get a face or neck shot (or groin-- ouch!). My idea of "fairly small shot" is #1 Buck. It'll go through a leather jacket and still give good penetration.

If you've got both hands to use and room to manuever it, a shotgun is the best weapon.

I'd say #4 Buck, but my main point is that a .357 has 'way too much penetration for a high-density suburban environment.

If your intention is to shoot and wound, make sure you have a lawyer on the sidelines to field the civil law suites filed by the perp and his family. Dead men tell no tales.

Given the circumstances you use the first gun you get your hands on!
Besides she tried not to damage the furniture.

``I like to be prepared,'' she said.

With gun ownership, comes responsbility.

This well armed lady pulled the trigger nine times INSIDE HER HOUSE and got one peripheral hit, putting everyone else in the neighborhood, if not her furniture, at risk the other 8 times.

If you intend to defend yourself with a firearm, seek competent instruction and spend time periodically at the range.
