I've read that President Reagan had so much respect for the Oval Office that he wouldn't even go in there unless he was in a suit and tie.
I've said it before, but: I find it refreshing that we now have a president who respects the office, too! I believe President George W. Bush appreciates the significance of his responsibility to our country.

RE: Respect in the White House--I read that one time President Bush was watching a movie in the theater in the WH and he needed something from the Oval Office. He'd been gone a half hour or so and a friend who was asking wondered out loud what was taking so long. An aide or someone replied that President Bush had gone back to the residence to change into a suit and tie before he went to pick up the paper or whatever he needed. THAT'S respect.
