It was a mistake to go on. Bush seemed tentative, defensive, and frankly stammered at times. This will not lose him the election, but it was a bad move. Totally unnecessary. Another Rove blunder. It is going to take some good advertising to show the immense amount of baggage that comes with Kerry. He is a total phoney. THAT is where the election will be won. Just show Kerry for what he is. In the meantime, for God's sake, keep Bush OFF live TV!

I didn't see the interview, but your summation doesn't match what I read on another thread?

MJY, how was it?

Same President Bush as candidate Bush and the same ole bs that I heard 4 years ago. If you feel uncomfortable listening to President Bush, listen to John Kerry.

Which interview were you watching? I was impressed with Bush. He came across as believing what he said. To me, that is the most important criteria in judging a politician during an interview. It only takes a few seconds to realize whether the interviewed is full of crap. I don't get that impression from W.

Russert was true to form. He hammers the Republicans but blows the Democrats.

Bush was Bush and that's what makes him great. When he "stammers" as you say...he is thinking and trying to say AGAIN in another way to say what he said probably two questions ago. He was great and he was masterful of the interview. Lil timmy was rudly interrupting every chance he got as President Bush was getting to the last point in his sentence. To his credit...President Bush would not allow him to do that. He stayed the course and finished his thought. I LOVED it when he said he would not change his vision for the country and the American people and would not lead according to polls. He does just fine on TV in my opinion. He's not scripted. When scripted you get every word and thought perfect. Instead President Bush said what he believed and he did great.

Bush can do much better than he did.
