And I'll bet those students insist upon receiving thier education in Spanish and more than likely trash the US every chance they get.

Reimbursement fraud like this is common across the country.
It's far more widespread than anyone knows about. I see it in my area. Some of it is very carefully hidden, to the point that even school board members don't detect it until their noses are rubbed in it.
It's a vast tax on all taxpayers, local and state and federal. And one student can easily be counted by more than one district too, a situation very different from, for instance, other district reimbusements/subsidy for special education.

Sounds like a good project for the churches in the US that are always going to Mexico to build a church. Why not build some schools instead & direct funds to support the school w/ staff & materials?

This is called "professional bureaucrats sucking on the taxpayers tit". Get as much money as you can from as many progams as you can and you will be rewarded by the Mayor for not having to actually ask the citizens if it's okay to raise taxes locally.

Actually, the older kids receive all English speaking teachers because they want to be able to graduate, go to college on our buck and work in America too. Most of them speak English as well as a person born in America. A Border Patrol agent would have a difficult time distinguishing them from American citizens without a search of their pockets and purses.

"The district counters that they have very stringent residency rules and require students to show proof of residency before being enrolled. But the district admits it receives $5,400 each year from the state for each student enrolled, which some parents contend is the real issue." Follow the $$$ is right . . .

Then I guess all this bilingual education is for naught, as all good multiculturalists require we educate in their native language.
Go to college. . .in this country illegally and they want to qualify for in-state rates. Big push for that right now, with the Rats pushing it. Was a big news item in VA last year.
Work in the states? You bet. Then send all those bucks to Mexico.
I'll bet not one of those illegals/students is from a family that has applied to enter the USA legally.
I'll also bet not one of them wants to become an American citizen.
This is a problem nationwide, and is costing American's big bucks to educate those that break federal law on a daily basis.

Have you heard of Senator Hatch? The REPUBLICAN from Utah? Check out his DREAM Program.

"a good project for the churches in the US that are always going to Mexico to build a church. Why not build some schools instead & direct funds to support the school w/ staff & material" For one thing, mexican schools teach heavy doses of anti Americanism & I think even our way liberal church folk would balk at the texts they'd have to use.
For another thing, they are probably too busy caching food and water in southern Arizona to be bothered with actually helping anyone in M (oops) mexico.

Don't you ever wonder how much of California's budget problems would be relieved if they enforced the laws on things like this? If the school can't be bothered to enforce the regulations, perhaps the parents should get together to monitor the situation and have the state deduct payments for the number of students who are crossing the borders. The school administrators should be terminated.

Come on, you aren't serious are you? These people are live voters. Illegal ones, yes, but they can still be bussed to the voting stations. Ask Boxer about how this is done.

The people are forgetting that THEY have the power. Sheesh, Americans are getting as bad as the people of this world who live under dictators. If they want their taxes to be lower then they are obviously going to have to take the situation in hand and do something about it. Like actually running candidates for school boards and taking the time to go out and VOTE for those candidates.
