I agree completely. I have always felt that if they had something to fear from prison then they might think twice before commiting this crap. I advocate doing all further medical research and testing on prisoners and give the animals a break.

It was reported that negotiations with him led to her being found. That's enough evidence for a public hanging as far as I'm concerned. Let everyone come watch what will happen to child murderers.

That lovely child reminde me of my lovely niece. My heart's been broken since the story broke. Now it's shattered for her and her family. God help us when jackasses like her murderer are allowed to roam our streets after being arrested again and again and again. We . . . society . . . enabled her killer to kill her.

I read somewhere the other day that if we exectuted 1 million of the criminals in this country we would see a huge change yet the left and some christians have fought so hard for the criminals that what, only 4000 have been executed since the 70's.

I hope they didn't let him plead out of the death penalty.

Body of missing Sarasota girl found; mechanic charged

By MITCH STACY
Associated Press Writer

SARASOTA, Fla. — The body of an 11-year-old girl whose abduction was captured by a surveillance camera has been found in a church parking lot and a mechanic has been charged with her murder, officials said Friday.

Sarasota County Sheriff Bill Balkwill refused to say where Carlie Brucia's body was found, but a law enforcement source close to the investigation said it was found between 12:45 a.m. and 1 a.m. Friday at a church not far from the car wash. Investigators found the body after negotiations with Smith, the source said on condition of anonymity.

"Our prayers on behalf of everybody here in Sarasota County go out to the family," Balkwill said.

He said Joseph P. Smith, 37, has been charged with her murder. He is believed to be the tattooed man in a mechanic's shirt who was seen in a car wash surveillance video leading Carlie away by the arm Sunday evening, authorities said.

"We now stand ready to complete our obligation, and assure you that he will pay the ultimate price for what he did to her," Capt. Jeff Bell said.

Family and friends had kept vigil outside Carlie's ranch-style house which was decorated with banners and posters reading, "We love you, Carlie."

Carlie was described by friends as a beautiful girl who loved actress Jennifer Lopez, going to the mall and hanging out. The youngster was known for greeting friends with warm hugs. She was heading home from a slumber party when she was abducted. She had a cat named Charlie........

Florida? I doubt it. Floridians and us Texans, IMHO, "get it." Personally, I don't particularly care whether the death penalty keeps other murdering jackasses from killing. I know it'll damn sure keep the one who was just executed from murdering again. That's good enough for me.

A state Department of Corrections official said Thursday that a probation officer had asked a judge on Dec. 30 to declare Smith in violation of his probation because he had not paid all his fines and court costs.

Probation official Joe Papy said Circuit Judge Harry Rapkin declined to find Smith in violation, which could have returned him to jail.

Come on AMERICA GROW SOME BALLS. This judge needs, no strike that, has EARNED the response of IMPEACHMENT.

I hope this SOB sleeps well knowing that by neglecting his SWORN DUTY to enforce the law he cost a 11 year old Girl her life.

ARGG

I volunteer to flip the switch. If Florida had death by firing squad, I could have 10 volunteers ready to go in about an hour...

I volunteer to flip the switch.

Can I help?

I'm going to have to take a time-out or something. I just posted some photos of Carlie . . . and I'm sitting here comparing them to some school photos of my niece. It's absolutely heart-breaking FOR ME! I can't even begin to imagine the pain Carlie's parents and friends must be feeling. There must be no pain greater than losing a child.

I've never been affected more by a news story than I have this one . . . and I'm a fat, cynical, old fart whose seen just about everything.

I think it's the car wash video that hooked me so emotionally to the story . . . As innocence herself is abducted by evil himself and led away to be tortured and murdered. You could just tell in the video that Carlie had been taught to respect her elders, to believe in the goodness of man, and to know that if she was a good person good things would happen to her.

God help me, I would kill that slime-bucket without a second's hesitation were he within reach right now!

Yup, I better take a time-out.

God bless her family. Her poor mother. I guess we cannot let our kids walk alone on a city street anymore even in daylight. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
