A good cigar, (and Cuba makes them) and a good pipe once in a while makes for a very nice evening. This is true on a cruise or a porch (or in my case under the awning of my trailer). Good for the cruise line, giving in to giving people more freedom. My opinion of Carnaval is going up.

I don't smoke, but once in awhile my husband indulges in a nice cigar. We are usually outside in our backyard looking at the stars enjoying a quiet glass of wine. We aren't sitting at the dinner table with the smoke billowing around. I think your thought of the pipes and cigars outside is a great one. We all need to cooperate a bit and the world is a much better place. Carnival could work on creating a smoking deck outside, cuz who wants to be inside while you're in the Carribean?
