February 4, 2004 -- JACK Valenti, the onetime special assistant to President Lyndon Johnson, will meet with History Channel officials today - demanding they rebut a documentary they aired implicating LBJ in President Kennedy's assassination. "I thought it was obscene as you can get," Valenti told The Post about "The Guilty Men," which aired on the network last November. "It was so riddled with surmise. Everybody they quoted was dead.

Is valenti goning to ask Oliver Stone to rebut JFK the movie?
To: longtermmemmory
I'm sure he did, although I have no memory of it.
LBJ was caught up in the grand conspiracy according to Stone's lil flick.

"The reason we're going [to the meeting] is, unfortunately . . . the general population sees something on a respected channel, and they believe it," Valenti said. The very reason that SeeBS had to be stopped with the Reagan slime piece.

But doesn't History Channel regulary advertise such "far out" theories as far out theories? A heads up wacko alert warning...

Donald Sutherland's appearance in JFK ----- check his four or five minute speech out if you ever watch that movie again. His character is talking to Jim Garrison in D.C.
One GREAT, insightful scene!

Valenti is an old JFK/Johnson swallower.
He's okay normally but goes beserk on this issue. Especially when it doesn't jive with his utopian version that he and his ilk had in those days.
And they think Bush is stupid! Geez.

i skip oliver stone films as a waste of time.

One GREAT, insightful scene! A pack of lies is more appropiate. That movie would have made Joseph Goebells proud with its propoganda shielding us from the very truth that Lee Harvey Oswald -- a communist -- shot Kennedy.
To: kattracks
Let's see anyone rebut what Barr McClellan revealed in that series. Instead they're just wanting the truth to be silenced.

But doesn't History Channel regulary advertise such "far out" theories as far out theories? A heads up wacko alert warning...I'm not sure they do it all the time, and I need it. I've read at least a dozen books on the JFK thing, and there is too much to say here. I'm just about 99% sure Oswald was not alone, and am prone to believe that he was not involved at all.

Yes and they did. I seen this show.

You most likely don't have a clue about the scene.

He doesn't care, he doesn't like Oliver Stone, so every single scene in the movie has to be bad. I know the scene you're referring to.

"Talk Radio" is another great Stone film.
Yes, Stone is a left-wing kook. But he's also a good filmmaker.

Isn't it interesting that the History Channel also has run programs that support the "Oswald acted alone" theory yet Valenti doesn't demand that it be rebutted. The Warren Commission Report is just a big a piece of fiction as Oliver Stone's JFK. Some know what happened, probably Valenti and Ford and Lady Bird, but the public will never know.
To: thesummerwind
You most likely don't have a clue about the scene. I do; however, according to the actual Mr. Garrison, that encounter happened in a duration of several months with many meetings. Naturally, after I saw JFK in the theatre, I knew that there was a conspiracy that killed him. Of course I was 12 at the time; what's your excuse?
