but hip-hop/rap culture is destructive and inferior, no matter what color of person adopts it(and there is plenty of white trash that has embraced it). It is a huge dividing point.

So are heavy metal songs that sing of killing and cutting up moms and worshipping the devil.

Please don't fall for the media's attempt to convince us this is normal for black or white. They are trying to corrupt our children. I have family members who are black who are disgusted by this old ho's behaviour.

yeah...heavy metal affect's kids in some way but please open your eyes and see what hip hop and rap is really like...it's ALL about the booty shake and the sexual dancing MTV has made so HIP! Missy Elliot for instance is so incredibly popular with kids -my teen asked me to listen to a clean version of her CD and I was SICK after hearing how extremely explicit it was! Teens eat this up...their parents are not around!

Agreed, there are many types of cultural cesspools that can be found throughout all kinds of demographics. Rap is not a pure black and white thing, in fact it is increasingly white. But my experience has been that probably 2 out of 3 times when the negativity of rap culture is discussed around the lunchroom, sooner or later someone starts crying that our criticism of it is really just racist criticism of black culture. My point is that until black culture makes more of a vocal effort to denounce and distance itself from the vile elements of hip-hop, it will be smeared by those elements (which fairly or unfairly are associated with black culture).
