I bet they'll miss the playoffs next year.If it happened to the Bucs and Raiders, it can happen to the Panthers.
To: DoctorMichael
Further Conjecture #389: If the Panthers had CONVERTED the two 2-pointers they missed the score would have 33-29 in the Panthers favor with NE having the ball for the final drive.......Except then NE would have needed a touchdown, NOT a field goal, since the Panthers would have been ahead by 4 points with time running out. Actually the Panthers would only have converted the one two-pointer. After making the first one, the second attempt would have been unnecessary. So the score would have been 31-29 in the Panthers favor. But of course, that's just conjecture because had the Panthers converted, I'm sure that would have affected play-calling that would have almost surely given us a different result.
Still can't believe what a great game I saw last night. And I do feel badly for the Panthers. They certainly came to play last night and Delhomme was at times, spectacular. That 85-yard throw was a thing of beauty. As perfectly thrown ball in that situation as you could ever want. The Patriots secondary got burned more times last night than they did all season.
What can I say about Tom Brady however. The guy is just as cool as a cucumber and he makes just enough plays to win the big game. When the Panthers tied the game with 1:07 left, I just knew that Brady was going to get Vinatieri in range for a winning field goal. I'm not normally a betting man but I would have laid money on it then and there.

I agree..........FANTASTIC Game!!!!!!!!!
Very entertaining; Defensive battle during most the first 2 quarters really increased the tension for me......like two boxers sparring and feeling each other out before starting to unload hay-makers at one another; The Pats eventually made adjustments and Brady was positively "surgical" in a Joe Montana-esque way; Da Bombs thrown by Delhomme were INCREDIBLE!; And THEN the finish......I can't throw enough superlatives at BOTH teams....Indeed, the Panthers have nothing to hang their heads about, and gave a good accounting of themselves.
(......lousey Halftime.......Jackson's crap DETRACTED from the game, which is not the purpose of a Halftime show......)

I think the Carolina Panthers will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC for years to come. I'm very impressed with their coach, John Fox. He put together a great game plan last night. Also, he was very gracious in defeat and kept a positive attitude. He's got potential for a long head coaching career.
As for the halftime show, what was the NFL thinking? Actually the halftime shows have been going downhill for years. But last night took the cake. When will the NFL realize that the core football fan leans more towards country music or straight ahead rock and roll. I don't think anybody was enjoying that rap/dance crap. A much better halftime show would consist of acts like Toby Keith, Charlie Daniels and even Aerosmith (who played before the game). Now those acts know how to play to a football crowd and they would have blown the roof off that stadium.

Carolina didn't play error-free football but they didn't screw up two chipshot field goals. As for the game, this was not a "great" game. Who was the idiot on the podium for the trophy that said this was the greatest game ever?
To: mpreston
Carolina didn't play error-free football but they didn't screw up two chipshot field goals. They did lose a fumble and muff a kickoff, leading to 10 New England points.
As for the game, this was not a "great" game.
I'm sure there have been more error-free games---but I enjoyed both the defensive battle of (most of) the first half, and the second-half fireworks. Sure beat the heck out of last year's blowout.

Halftime show - can't help but associate the Cialis and Levitra sponsorship with MTV's halftime show of rap musicians playing with themselves. Kind of appropriate. I wonder if this is the image MTV wants for itself, a bunch of has been musicians on Levitra and Cialis.
Photos are available at the
streaker's website now.
Mark Roberts continues in his passion to bring laughter to the world. He performed his best ever streak yet, appearing as "Super Bowel" at THE SUPERBOWL in the good ol' US of A!
- Mark dances a jig around the ball! (in his scantly-clad ref outfit)
Mark's intention is to bring smiles to our friends over the water and billions throughout the world, armed with just half a US football over his nether regions, he was eventually "levelled" by a New England linebacker!
Mark has had many emails from the our US neighbours saying what they need is a good old fashioned laugh, so, allowing for $1.6 million dollars worth of security, that is what he gave them!
- "I haven't got your ball, pal, HONEST!" (backside shot)
He streaked just before the start of the third quarter (half time in English football!). His 30 second show certainly livened up the proceedings after the lack lustre official half time show. The crowd lapped it up, with their cheers and flash photography, Mark was sure to be buzzing, knowing he gave the American public a much needed laughter session.
Our Mark upon his release (hopefully it will be soon!) will try to gain interviews with top talk show hosts (Hey JAY - if you're listening - GET IN TOUCH!) to talk through what he considers his all time best.
- Go easy on him guys ! (being carried off by security)
