How much disgusting "Ornamentation" (melisma) in the National Anthem singing today?
Why can't they just sing the song as it is written?
Can you imagine a marching band playing the Anthem, and throwing in all those extra notes???

The extra notes...I hate that too. Reminds me of Slim Whitman.

Did you ever see this type of guy in the fourth quarter when his team is about 17 points behind with about a minute and a half left?
Pretty funny, but at least they stuck around for the whole game! ;)

"Losers ??? THe Patriots!! Give me a break."Fifteen in a row is alot of games to win... Besides, everyone knows that the Pats only won their last SB appearance because the country was in a patriotic mood and for the good of the country, the NFL saw to it that the Patriots would win.
Seriesly, it doesn't matter what you did before you got to the Super Bowl, just ask the 2001 Rams what they were thinking when they saw they were going to play a young inexperienced QB in Tom Brady...

Seems I remember some chick named Whitney something or other, that did pretty well with a minimum of embellishment.

I had never heard or seen the word "melisma" before your post. I feel like I just slept at a Holiday Inn Express!

Who has teal uniforms?
Which one of the cast from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy picked that color? The former Charlotte Hornets (currently New Orleans) have teal uniforms. The uniforms were designed by Alexander Julian--a North Carolina home boy sweetie.

While some fans have made it into Reliant Stadium today, others are facing a wait of at least an hour ahead of
today's Super Bowl. One fan from Charlotte said she spent more than three hours getting into the stadium.

She was much more sophisticated than Cadenza. But I wouldn't introduce either of them to my mom.

Super Bowl XXXVIII is the longest in the series (in Roman numerals) until the 88th event
Therefore, it will indeed be a long, OVERTIME game...
To: PackerBoy
Hahahaha!! You're funny. Favre is done for. Next year he'll throw more picks than completions. The Pack will go 4-12. What's worse (for you), Da Bears will win BOTH meetings!
No personal offense meant, but as a Bear fan I couldn't let your post stand unchallenged :-[)

ping to post # 170. "Ornamentation", "melisma" coming up in the National Anthem? Get ready with the barf bag.
I wonder how long it will take to warble through it.
1 minute 52 seconds?

I think (hope) the Panthers will pull it out. However I do like Brady as he's a Republican and a Dubya fan.
