Wesley Clark pledged Saturday to "get our balance right" by stemming illegal immigration while allowing immigrants to earn citizenship over time.

Appearing in this military community near the border with Mexico, the retired general said, "We are going to control our borders, going to work with the government of Mexico to stem what's going on down there because we have to."

You're right. Bush advocating this policy simply invites the question, "why haven't you done it yet?"

Ermm, perhaps because Dubya's focus is on the "hard core" immigrants I.E. Terrorists and is focusing on maintaining the pressure on the terrorist as to keep the war on their turf and keep it off of our turf.

Keep the pressure on the Immigration failures, I don't care where it comes from just that it is addressed....let it be the defining issue....it is one of my top issues for all the Federalis. I want GWB and the DNC to feel my PAIN! And I don't need any advice from the Bots!

Ditto! I'm sick and tired of politicians being too scared to talk about illegals (with the exception of Tancredo), except to sympathize with them. Enough is enough!

Be still, my political heart....Is it appropriate to love one because of their political and spiritual beliefs alone, without even meeting them??(Gasp, knuckles in mouth)

You know, I suppose it could be so.

Be careful in what one shows of themselves, it is ALWAYS political fodder to someone!

I'm tough -- I can take it...I think. But thanks for your concern. :)

I really enjoy your posts NYC GOP Chick and look forward to many more.

Oh my. All this flattery is really going to my head! ;D

OTOH, he may have just torpedoed the whole illegal alien vote, which *is* a large part of the loyal 'Rat base.....:))
( hopefully he won't make any promises to felons or dead voters, next )

Actually, having slept much of this afternoon and early evening, I'm quite wired now. Last night at this time, I knocked out a whole graphic project. Tonight? After a shower, I may go write a play or something. :)

but not where it counts.

Yes it will for Dubya has the vision of what is necessary and hasn't "closed" his mind to just focus on one issue at hand...Thank Gawd for that!

My Husky just loves the cold weather,

My Golden is nuts about the snow -- likes to burrow in it and I can't get him back when I let him out. He's hunting, hunting all the time, following rabbit and deer trails and who knows what.

Actually, having slept much of this afternoon and early evening,

Oh, the pleasures that some can enjoy!

It sounds sooo relaxing, however work, work, work, housework, work , work, work, housework, and of course the self insistent 10% of time on FR and sleeping prevents me from even longing for the pleasures of afternoon sleep! (unless of course I have a body temp that is 3 digits...

My Golden is nuts about the snow --

Great dog that Golden!

However, loving the snow is a mite bit different than tolerating the snow when it's 25 below with a wind chill of 40 below.

Even Silver, my Husky wants to come in after a time when it gets that cold. I guess I convinced him he's a wimp when I wouldn't stay the duration outside with him....
