Is there a credible, impartial, source for the entire story on the President's service record? We have all read these stories many times but, to date, I haven't seen anything satisfactory that clears up a troublesome record. Dismissing Conason because he's a common RAT and inveterate liar isn't enough and this will be a crucial point if ketchup boy gets tapped to run. I fully expect that pompous F'ing ass to show up someplace wearing tiger-stripe fatigues and a boonie hat. If Bush stays on the high-ground and won't engage him on the military service record, it simply looks worse.

This is a not a story, nobody wanted to gp to Vietnam, including me. The pwerful used the national guard others used medical and college deferments to avoid their duty. It was a very common practice. Bush's path to avoiding the war was more honorable then alot of elites. Look at Al Gore, he served but with an escort to keep him ut of harms way!

I wasn't so lucky or so well connected so I joined the Marine Corp, like my older brother before me. I Figured if was going to Vietnam may as well go the the best!

Try the NYT who investigated the story when the Boston Globe ran with the story. The Boston Globe issues a retraction after the NYT investigation.

The Real Military Record of George W. Bush: Not Heroic, but Not AWOL, Either

Does this mean that Governor Bush was only what he claimed...an Air National Guard pilot who flew one of the hotest and demanding fighters of his era?

That says it all june 6, 1972 George Walker Bush suspended from flying for failing to take a physical-

Bush is not a deserter. It's disgusting to see the 'RATS drag this crap out time and again. Unfortunately, every time "Bush" and "deserter" appears in a news story no matter how dismissive a little part of his support disappears. It sux.

You might wish to take a look at this complete thread, a Free Republic Thread on Bush(43) Service Record which will answer not only the charges that he got into the Texas Air National Guard by pulling strings with an extremely low test score, and that he was "AWOL" from duty. The information on the thread even has photocopies of the Bush(43) service records, dates, times etc so that you can form your OWN opinion by reading the liberal 'charges' and dates, and then matching them up with his government service record. Why not trust you OWN eyes rather than having to find a 'story' which might support Bush(43)? Best of luck, dvwjr

From the Annenberg Political Fact Check report:

Bush A Military “Deserter?” Calm Down, Michael
Clark backer Michael Moore calls President Bush a “deserter” for missing Air National Guard drills 31 years ago. Puh-lease!
