I will vote for President Bush, the right man for the time

Posted on 01/31/2004 5:44:41 AM PST by ShelleyAa

“Bush is the right man at the right time.”

Over the past three years, Americans have seen great changes. With September 11, came an awakening to the greatness our nation holds, seeing strength in the face of many. A united front shown, a love for country expressed. Then ever so slightly, a cloud of heaviness and pessimism, as anti-war and anti-American word spoken by protestors, Democrat partisans and Hollywood elite darkened our daily view. Congress resolution, as well as UN Resolution passed. The brief Afghanistan and Iraqi wars victoriously fought by brave American and Coalition partners brought back pride for those that sacrificed, as well as those who fought. Continual fight on terror for years to come explained, Patriot Act passed, new security department formed. Saddam captured and Iraqi people liberated, again America is blessed. Corporate scandals already started, economy and stock market already in decline, within a short period an upward swing. Promised tax relief to all, tax relief received. The horrendous partial-birth abortion, finally buried. Education and Health bills passed in bi-partisan way. Unprecedented obstruction of President Bush’s judicial nominees, with minority, Democrat Senators, a floor debate not allowed. Hate from left spoken continually, with ever increasing beat. Through the entire three years, our nation had one constant, a leader and man of integrity, seeing us through.

President Bush, my leader has shown himself to be neither showman, nor follower, nor poll-driven politician. He is a person with passion for our country and its people. He has had to make courageous and difficult decisions. At times, offending both the right and left wishes, doing what he deemed in the best interest of our nation. With his faith projected, a trusted, compassionate leader, he reminds us, “Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America’s gift to the world; it is God’s gift to humanity.” His vision seen in word and action looks to the sky and to our neighbors and sees how the future could be different. Thankfully, both confidence and humility are characteristically shown in his person. As a leader, he placed good and capable people around him, not always having to be the one to take credit for the positive taken place. President Bush has shown that his purpose is larger than those that preach partisanship and his actions have shown this to as true.

Many Democrats partisans have no appreciation for President Bush’s direction. Obstruction and useless rhetoric displayed as they purposely place hunger for power over what is good for the nation. In communion with France and Germany, many Democrats demand that UN is in control of America’s military interest. In contrast, our president’s words, “Whatever action is required, whatever action necessary, I will defend the freedom and security of the American people.” How comforting to know that he will consult, but leadership is what we will see, not desiring the next to clean up the mess.

Sadly, short attention spans we have, not remembering the embarrassment of the last and dwelling only on the spin of the present. So many willing to demand one’s way, not considering the consequence of a liberal directed society that would come.

Zell Miller, a Democrat Senator from Georgia will be voting for President Bush this coming election. When asked why, he states, “Bush is the right man at the right time.” He goes on to state, “The next five years will determine the kind of world my children and grandchildren will live in. And I do not ‘trust’ any of the nine Democratic presidential candidates governing during this crucial period. ”

President Bush is a proven leader, a compassionate and genuine man. Through the fire tested, how thankful our nation should be.

As long as it's time for the U.S. to finally morph into a socialist haven for seniors and illegal aliens, and a corporatist police state for everyone else, Bush is the right man.

I am sad to say I ahve to agree with you.

All I have to do is think of is Kerry or Dean running the WOT.....(shudder)

We need to keep our priorities straight!

Exactly and especially since Kerry claims the terror alerts are overblown

One of the real problems with what Bush is doing is that it is blurring the line between friend and enemy, when the winning strategy should be to clearly define whom the enemy is and why they should be defeated. Conservatives know whom their enemies are, but we seem to be getting little cooperation from those who claim to be represent our views.

I read the date... Pickleme was still a hit and run and I cannot recall ever seeing that name before. Now CynCooper is different, she is not a hit and run type.

[ George Bush is the greatest president since Reagan, I think he won't miss your vote, nor those of all the far right political hermits posting here. ]

Stand still.. and pretty soon, you'll be far right too... unless you move progressively to the left.. assumeing, of course, thats not where you started out.. i.e. a (socially) compassionate conservative

He's a good man doing a good job with good people to help him.

It shows.

Right on, and those who plan to vote for the constitution party or any other third party, did you forget 1992 that brought us Bill Clinton because people voted for Ross Perot? Do you want the same thing to happens again exept it being Kerry, Dean or at worst Hitlery

My loyalty stays with President Bush. I can't believe people who's opinion shift and sway in the direction that the latest news story goes with. It's as though they can't distinguish what is true and what is mere speculation.

I agree I thought he was a moral and honest man who help some conservative principles to heart. That is why I voted for him in 2000. Now I see him pushing an agenda that is very socialist and I have to say I can not support him in 2004.

Yes. Those discouraged conservatives posting here are in good company. There are serious Republican members of congress who are openly charging the party has gone off course with the direction of its present leadership.

How do we get to less government by happily detouring through ...bigger government?

I think the conservative cause in America is lost.

Socialism in America is on full autopilot, flying us all into the mountain concealed by our delusional fog. It apparently doesn't matter if the Captain can't or won't disengage the autopilot as long as he appears to be a nice, sincere and caring guy.

I have met a lot of people in my life who are genuinely sincere, very nice, compassionate, totally convinced of their "rightness" and completely wrong.

I always thought "making America safe.. for socialism" was the motto of the other party.

The only way to halt the seemingly inexorable shift of American politics and culture to the left is to take a principled stand. Right now--as amply demonstrated by the illegal alien amnesty--the GOP feels it can take conservatives for granted because they have "no place else to go." Thus, the GOP will keep moving to the left, to attract the votes in the middle, being careful to stay just a little to the right of the Democrats. If Republicans knew they couldn't take conservatives for granted, they would actually try to win conservative votes by promising conservative policies.

Then, why don't we agree to take more of a "wait and see" attitude? I have a feeling that the GOP and Dems will kill the alien "amnesty" plan anyway - which, I think, was just a Rove Ruse anyway to kill the issue entirely.

My point is, with Bush in office, I feel secure that my family will be as safe as possible, given the dangerous times we are living in. I'm not about to risk that security by casting (or not casting) a protest vote.

But, I do understand where you are coming from. And, there are other ways to get your point across without putting our families in harm's way (like your otherwise excellent posts here on FR). Why not write an op-ed for the Washington Times, or some letters to the editor? That approach is far more effective than most people think.

Or, of course, support strong conservatives in congressional primaries.

Make your voice meaningless, throw your vote away on a third party candidate, that's how we got Clinton and the problems of 2000 and 2001

So if my 3rd party vote was such a waste then why are you bringing it up? A few more, as you say meaningless votes, WILL bring candidates that share that view. Staying home & not voting or voting for the lesser evil is the real sin.

In fact, GWB is just as conservative as Reagan was; and I'm just as conservative as I was back then.
