...um... I seem to recall a few immigration threads where you sounded like a third-party, spawn of satan type...
Well, let me address the temporal, and leave the spiritual for another time. I think third parties are a 99% waste of time. I haven't voted for one in about 15 years, but I used to all the time. I think they're ok for the very rare protest vote, but I'd never recommend joining one. America will never have a three party or multiparty system. Our electoral system doesn't foster anything but a two party system, and it would take impossible-to-achieve Constitutional Amendments to the Electoral College and the Legislative Branch to make it anything other than a two-party system.

I was mistaken when I said I had stated my comment re Washington after another poster praised him with a sagacious quote: "but didn't he own slaves" was intended as sarcasm. But on a conservative site thought that would be understood.

Um, I am. But not because of this.

Your not going to bait me. I will repeat: If we don't get juges under control illegal immigration will be the least of our worries, IMO.

We're all gradually coming to the same conclusion. I don't even know what to say, because I do not want John Kerry or John Edwards to be president, but I no longer see why it would be any worse.
Judges, maybe, that's all I can think of.

I agree, whether GWB sincerely thinks it's "the right thing to do" or not cuts no ice with me.

But on a conservative site thought that would be understood. On a conservative site it would have been understood, but I am so used to be attacked on this forum as of late, because I refuse to blindly support GWB.
Let me appologize if I came across as harsh.

It touched a nerve with me probably because I am more socially than economically conservative. Sure, I want no more income tax etc., but if it comes between a social issue or an economic issue, I probably will get more riled up about the social one since unfortunately, our economy probably won't go back to what it once was in its complete free market structure and low taxes on Americans with less bloated govt. etc.
Probably I have the feeling that the culture war is ultimately more vital for the future of the nation, so this is where I will stand and fight to the end of the day, not economic issues.

This is one big Bush supporter that is going to bitch loud and long about this.
You do not defeat liberalism by becoming one.
