Will you be happy when those judges legalize faggot marriage, that you opposed the President? They already have. We're losing every battle, except for the infernal war that Bush thinks will get him re-elected.
If Bush can't do good now, he won't change his ways as a lame duck.

Largest increase in 20 years might be a biggy. The president is going to need many large increases to spend the same amount as Reagan did on this.

I found out the other day that the taxpayer funded Department of Education spends money on doing the closed captioning for shows like "Spongebob Square Pants" that have no educational value at all.

It's a very big deal. Doing the Right Thing should come naturally.
The appropriate funding level for NEA = $0
The appropriate funding level for NEH = $0
The appropriate funding level for CPB = $0
The appropriate funding level for NPR = $0
Socializing the TV industry is not needed. Socialistic patronage of arts and culture is small compared to the 'big' foundations - and thus redundant and useless. We should stop it.
That we fail to advocate this is a failure to live up to conservative principles.
A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you are talking about real money.

The dems will always complain their programs are underfunded. So why not just cut them. They will demogauge it anyway. There never should have been a No Child Left Behind plan from Bush. Education matters should be left to the states. Jeb Bush here in florida has it under control. The so-called illegals that are being rounde up are suspected terrorist enablers being held under the Patriot Act. Not for crossing the border illegally. As for recess appointments. True, the judges term ends at the end of congress' term. BUT, they can be re-nominated in the next one and then recess apointed again for another 2 years. Liberal judges have done major damage to this country in the last 2 years while Bush sat and watched while vacancies remained.

Sorry for the aside, but your tagline could also include "Taker-Makers" or welfare queens.

Karl Rove has absolutely nothing to do with the budget. He's the whipping boy around here for everything that anyone doesn't approve of in this administration, but at some point we need to draw the line.
Somewhere near reality would suit me best.

But, if it goes to fund patriotic art- what's wrong with that? There is no enumerated power in the Constitution that specifies the Federal Government has the authority to fund the arts.
The Four pillars of Conservatism:
1) Limited Government
2) Obedience to the Rule of Law
3) Rights of the Individual
4) Personal Responsibility
This proposed spending by Bush violates 3 of the 4 (#'s 1,2, and 4).

This is such a little amount to pay for so much enjoyment to so many people I rarely disagree with you but I will here.

We certainly won't win any "victory over the left" by suffocating them under piles of money.

I think Ronald Reagan appointed Lynn Cheney as the director for the Nat'l Endowment for the Arts during his time in office. Perhaps, Dubya will increase the budget and put a patriotic conservative at the helm so that the money is used wisely.

The appropriate funding level for NEA = $0Gotcha! Now, if we can just get everyone else to agree, we'll have a majority!! ;-)

No, I don't want Condi as Prez. If I ever said that it was just an excersize in 'what if'. Be interesting to see what the black vote does... but thats about all I'd be interesting in seeing.
